Meghan McCain Negotiating Return to Fox News After Leaving The View, ‘Meghan Wants Revenge’

In public, Meghan McCain has been insisting she doesn’t plan to return to TV any time soon after departing The View, some sources are now saying she’s already considering returning to Fox News, Radar reports.

“TV is a drug,” one source told Radar. “Once you have been on a daily show it is almost impossible to walk away. Most people that have left The View have tried to return to TV on different shows and networks, however, almost all of them fail — except Meghan who has been welcomed back with open arms by Fox News.”

The speculation has been ongoing since McCain appeared on Sean Hannity’s Fox News program in October, perhaps indicating she was indeed in talks with the network. That has said the insiders’ tongues a-wagging.

“There is not a signed deal in place right yet, but both Meghan and Fox have been [sic] made it clear that they want this to happen,” according to the insiders. “Meghan wants a new TV home that supports her and welcomes her views in a way that ABC never did. She needed a little break to recover from the toxic work environment at The View, but is now ready to return and show those women that they didn’t win by pushing her out. Meghan wants revenge.”

McCain seemed to confirm that in her interview with Hannity.

“I know what women supporting women looks like, because I had it when I worked at Fox News, McCain said. “I had a sisterhood at Fox that I lost at The View.”

Several panelists on The View, especially Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar, are noted liberals and since McCain is pretty conservative, sometimes the situation got heated. Most notably a war of words between McCain and Behar was on some days, quite commonplace.

But The View isn’t about “women supporting women.” It’s about women’s views on the day’s important topics. McCain was the show’s sole conservative and that meant conflicts with her progressive co-hosts were going to happen. That’s the very nature of The View.

Prior to McCain leaving there had been plenty of speculation about fighting between the co-hosts behind the scenes, and in her recently released book, Bad Republican, she trashes her co-hosts so obviously there’s no love lost here.

“I kind of feel The View is like when the guy who has a bad reputation wants to date you and you’re like, ‘I’m going to be the one to change him.’ That’s what the view is like to me, ” McCain said at one point. “I was like, ‘I’m going to be the one to change this. I’m going to be the one that’s going to help the culture and whip it into shape and all these things.'”

“I really loved debating politics. I actually really love fighting as long as there are rules,” McCain added. “I don’t like when it’s personal, and it started getting really, really personal.”

Hannity, of course, featured the clip where McCain joked to Joy Behar about missing her while she was on maternity leave and Behar infamously snapped “I did not miss you, I did not miss you, zero.”

So perhaps McCain will feel less uncomfortable at Fox News, where everyone will agree with her and won’t challenge her on anything. She’ll be able to “debate” politics with people who all think the same way that she does. McCain may have felt persecuted on The View but her co-hosts were all left-leaning and they were bound to air their feelings when McCain voiced hers.

What did she think they were going to do?
