Trump Celebrates the Suspension of Chris Cuomo and It’s as Disgusting as You’d Expect it to Be

By now you probably know that Chris Cuomo was suspended by CNN on Tuesday. In the event you’ve been on sabbatical in a cave somewhere and don’t know what happened, here’s a quick summation.

On Monday, The New York Times revealed pretty damning intel about Cuomo, including new documents that showed that he been move involved in his brother Andrew’s attempts to deal with s*xual h*rassment claims than he’d previously revealed. Per the Hollywood Reporter, CNN suspended Cuomo indefinitely after the report, which detailed, among other things, how he used his connections to help dig up dirt on some of his brother’s accusers. Which is really gross, and disappointing considering I’ve always been a fan of Chris Cuomo.

“The documents, which we were not privy to before their public release, raise serious questions,” a CNN spokesperson told THR. “When Chris admitted to us that he had offered advice to his brother’s staff, he broke our rules and we acknowledged that publicly. But we also appreciated the unique position he was in and understood his need to put family first and job second. However, these documents point to a greater level of involvement in his brother’s efforts than we previously knew. As a result, we have suspended Chris indefinitely, pending further evaluation.”

And CNN did the right thing. Let’s be honest, most of us would help our family members if they found themselves in trouble. But Cuomo is someone in a position of trust, and the person he was helping was not just his brother, but the governor of New York. Cuomo stepped way over the line and this suspension is well deserved until a full investigation can determine just how involved Cuomo was.

Enter Donald Trump.

If there is one thing Trump loves, it’s to revel when one of his perceived enemies faces hardship of any kind. Cuomo works for CNN, which Trump sees as FAKE NEWS, and therefore Cuomo was the enemy. Trump has long nicknamed Cuomo “Fredo” which is pretty funny considering most people hold out that nickname for Trump’s own son, Don Jr.

So as soon as news broke that CNN suspended Cuomo, here comes the Former Guy with one of his pathetic “statements”, tweeted by his spokeswoman Liz Harrington:

“Great news for television viewers, they have just suspended Chris Cuomo indefinitely! The big question is, was it because of his horrendous ratings, which in all fairness have permeated CNN and MSDNC, or was it because his brother is no longer Governor? Probably both. In any event, Fredo is gone!”

“Great news”. See? What kind of person finds actual joy in the misfortune of others? Hmmm…don’t they have a word for that type of person?

Moving on, Trump is gross. Don Jr. will always be Fredo. And Twitter had some thoughts:
