Meghan McCain is Losing Her Freaking Mind Over Fox News’ Tree Being Burned Down and It’s SO WEIRD
Meghan McCain is once again facing rampant criticism, this time for her careless Tweet following a recent incident where the tree outside of the Fox News Building was set on fire. McCain’s Tweet read: “I don’t want to hear anything about how radical some of you believe republicans to be when there are lunatics running around New York City setting Fox News Christmas tree on fire.”
The 49-year-old homeless man who is accused of having started the fire has been taken into custody by the NYPD and is facing a myriad of charges for what Fox calls a malicious attack against their tree. Since then, Fox has also commented that the tree burning was a “brazen act of cowardice” and that they would replace it with a new one “as a message that there can be peace, light and joy even during a dark moment like this.”
McCain’s comparison of the victimless crime to the problems infiltrating the entire Republican Party was immediately called out for being insensitive at best and completely ridiculous at worst. Bobby Lewis, writer at Media Matters, replied in one Tweet that, “That’s right, nobody can talk about ‘white supremacy’ or ‘attempted coups’ because of a minor property crime in midtown Manhattan.”
Also, Meghan deleted her tweet, which is a sign even she knew it was ridiculous.

Another user, Devin Duke, replied similarly, saying, “‘I don’t want to hear about Congressmen who attempted a coup and post m*rder fantasy videos about other members of Congress because a tree was burning.” These are just a few examples of many dissenting replies, from well-known politicians and public figures to the general Twitter population.
McCain has attempted to critique the left in the past for their alleged war on Christmas, along with many other republicans. Trump has commented on the issue in past years, accusing liberals of hating the phrase “Merry Christmas”, which was echoed by other conservatives. McCain herself made her stance on the issue very clear as well, letting everyone know that, “I think I’m a Christian and I celebrate Christmas.”
Take a look at Twitter pouncing on McCain:
Meghan McCain is trending because someone setting a Christmas tree on fire is worse than attempting to overthrow the government. WOW!
