Yale Social Scientist: Trump’s 2024 Playbook is Straight Out of Hitler’s ‘Mein Kampf’

It can happen here. NO one should ever forget that in the 1920s, Germany was the most sophisticated nation on earth in music, engineering, physics, and medicine, Einstein had just taught the world relativity. It wasn’t even close. The U.S. was some agrarian backwater nation – FULL of potential (and the world knew it,) just not organized. Germany was. And yet, just 12 years later Germany had train cars full of Jews headed to concentration camps.

It can happen here.

No one is saying that Trump is Hitler, or that the United States could or would become Hitler’s Germany, there will never be anything that compares with precision, but the abuses could be every bit as real and there are some very disturbing overlaps. Trumps 2024 strategy does sound a lot like the “aggrieved” Hitler. He is going to push the Big Lie as the Big Aggrieved one, “my struggle.”

NPR ran a piece that addressed some of the very disturbing parallels:

“I’ve never been more scared about American democracy than I am right now, because of the metastasizing of the ‘Big Lie,'” Hasen said. “This is not the kind of thing I expected to ever worry about in the United States. I kind of feel like a climate scientist from five years ago, or [an] expert on viruses a couple of years ago, sounding the alarm and just hoping that we’re not too late already.”

Many of us have felt the same way for quite some time:

“I’ve never been more scared about American democracy than I am right now, because of the metastasizing of the ‘Big Lie,'” Hasen said. “This is not the kind of thing I expected to ever worry about in the United States. I kind of feel like a climate scientist from five years ago, or [an] expert on viruses a couple of years ago, sounding the alarm and just hoping that we’re not too late already.”

This site has written with the exact same wariness and fear for over a year. If one thinks about the type of person that throws nations into violent chaos, they are people like Donald Trump. They are almost obviously mentally ill, have a rabid cult like following, purposefully inject fear into everything, And – most important, believe that he/himself “Is” the nation. Donald Trump thinks that’s what  is good for Donald Trump is good for the United States. Anything that is bad for Donald Trump must also be bad for the United States, this is a rock solid mindset that cannot be changed if he spent the rest of his life in therapy.

Never forget how he described “U.S.-China Relations,” the nation we really do compete with and could draw us into a way, Trump said, “I have a very good relationship with Xi, he treated me so well.” Thus was Donald Trump’s description of US-Chinese relations.

The Big Lie feeds Trump’s narcissistic injury, he needs it to breathe. His heart would stop if he said he lost and believed it. Thus, he is the most dangerous of tyrants, the type that is hurt, feeling aggrieved, lashing out and wanting to hurt the country that hurt him, or at least a big part of it. This isn’t about happy endings, it is about revenge. In that way, it is identical to Hitler’s Germany.
