Far-Right Pastor Claims Kids With Autism are Actually Demonically Possessed and It’s Just So Horrible

New day, new bizarre and almost hard to believe news from the extremist far-right community as a video was released of fundamentalist pastor Greg Locke claiming that all autistic children suffer from demonic possession. He must have known what he was about to say was wrong, as he started his speech by speaking to the audience, “Do not jump up right now and rebuke me for what I’m about to say.”

Usually, any medical advice that starts with a warning like that can be safely dismissed, but Locke’s brainwashed audience was on the edge of their seat to hear the rest. He continued, “I’m telling you your kid could be demonized and attacked, but your doctor calls it autism.” He went on to say that he did not care if he had the support of the audience (which he did) because all he truly cares about is deliverance for children.

Another facepalm-worthy point the pastor makes is that autism is not listed in the Bible. However, it didn’t seem to cross his mind that almost no diseases recognized in modern society are listed because the Bible was written thousands of years ago. The total disregard of all current medicine and science has become a key point for far-right extremists. This is not the first time Locke has perpetrated this sentiment, spreading misinformation in the past about COVID-19.

Luckily, when the video was shared on Twitter, it was entirely overtaken by many people pointing out both the logical flaws and the moral flaws in Locke’s argument. Many people pointed out that though Locke’s ideas seem so far-fetched that everyone would recognize them as untrue, they could still potentially have psychological damage on individuals and society as a whole.
