According to a senior Trump adviser, many of Trump’s present and former staff are struggling with legal bills that are coming as a result of their association to Trump at the time of the January 6 riots, and since he refuses to help them pay those bills, several of them are considering taking him to court to force him to finance.

Many of those who are close colleagues of Trump, or were at the time of the insurrection, are facing subpoenas and other legal actions from the House Select Committee that is investigating what actually happened on January 6, 2021. It’s interesting that Trump refuses to help foot the bills that his friends and peers are facing despite the fact that his own legal battle with the state of New York over his corrupt business practices is being financially covered by the Republican National Committee.

This is not the first time that those in cahoots with Trump have faced legal ramifications simply due to their closeness to his questionable activities, and it is also not the first time he has refused to help pay those bills for his staff. One example is Rudy Guiliani, who was denied help from Trump despite the fact that he was dealing with multiple investigations and even possible disbarment because of the former president.

The possibility of Trump being taken to court and forced to pay for the legal expenses of those dealing with the ramifications of January 6 was first reported by Maggie Haberman of the New York Times last Thursday, one year after the Capitol insurrection. The House Select Committee is still conducting their investigation, and the list of Trump associates who are being checked out continues to grow as more information comes in.
