A new viral video showing an ad running in Florida (of course) for a window shutters company called Plantation Shutters For You depicts their commercial, which simply says at the end that all liberals and Biden voters should not bother calling. The advertisement has been on Florida television for a few months now but recently made a big splash on social media as well.

The commercial runs a male voice-over on top of pictures of different window shutters, and the narrator says, “Manufactured in the USA, Plantation Shutters for You is your best choice for plantation shutters. Call today for a free consultation, discounts for all military and first responders.” That’s all pretty run-of-the-mill until they add the last sentence: “If you support Joe Biden or are liberal, don’t call us.”

The ad has been posted as a video on TikTok where it now has over four million views. It has also been shared by a Twitter account with a large following and has almost 20,000 views on that platform. One user, Joe Bowen, replied with this thoughtful question: “What happens if you were a Republican when you bought their shutters, but changed your mind and voted Democrat a couple of years later?”

A different user, Justin Moore, made the point that “This would be the top story all week on Tucker Carlson and Fox News if it discriminated conservative citizens….” Plantation Shutters released their statement in the aftermath of people reacting to their advertisement, but according to them, everyone loves it, and there are “All good vibes!”

Plantation Shutters has released a similar commercial that targeted Biden voters in the past, and though that one got some social media attention as well, it had significantly fewer views than their new commercial. In that ad, released in April 2021, they offer discounts to “Biden voters who wished they voted for Trump now as well as Trump voters.”
