Trump is Telling People He’s Still Tight With Kim Jong Un and That They Still Speak

While it seems like books revolving around Trump’s presidency are coming in droves, the latest one has fascinating details, such as that it appears Trump is still in regular contact with Kim Jong Un. The fact that this is being revealed when the reports have shown that North Korea is still conducting missile tests makes it an unsettling piece of news.

The book, written by the New York Times reported by Maggie Haberman and entitled “Confidence Man: The Making of Donald Trump and the Breaking of America,” has not been released yet. Still, the details that have been leaked so far have already caused plenty of controversies. Axios reported this early information about the book.

Haberman did an interview on Thursday with CNN. She went into this rumor further and clarified that Trump has been bragging about his continuing relationship with the North Korean leader but that the evidence does not extend beyond that. She explained that “You know, what he says and what’s actually happening are not always in concert, John, but he has been telling people that he has maintained some kind of either correspondence or discussion with Kim Jong Un.”

The author also pointed out that if Trump’s claims are valid, he certainly would not be the first president to have been in contact with other world leaders after their time in office was up, but what makes it strange is that the North Korean leader is the only one that Trump is still talking to.

She also spoke about how proud Trump used to be when he received a letter from Kim Jong Un during his time at the White House, detailing that, “Those letters, you know, from Kim Jong Un that the Washington Post in terrific reporting, reported on the fact that he had taken with him to the White House, the original copies, he would wave them around, as I understand, he would wave them around in the White House and he would wave them around at Mar-A-Lago.”
