Trump doesn’t have the most success when it comes to new businesses.

Yes, he was successful in becoming president. We still aren’t quite sure how that happened. And he had some success in some of his real estate properties. His greatest success was actually his reality show, The Apprentice.

But let’s look at the failures.

Did you know there was a Trump Water? FAILED. Trump Airlines? FAILED. Trump the Board Game (LOL)? FAILED. Trump steaks. Trump mortgages. Trump casinos. Trump vodka. All FAILED.

So when news broke that Trump would be developing a social media site to rival Twitter, many figured it would fail as well. And so far, those predictions are dead-on.

Truth Social isn’t working. If you join you are placed onto a waitlist that never seems to move. Even MAGA-type right wingers are unhappy about the service.

The news is everywhere, and Trump is pretty pissed off about it, because he hates looking like a loser.

And basically, all Trump is doing is screaming at his aides to get it fixed.

According to The Daily Beast:

In recent weeks, sources have heard the former president on the phone swearing gratuitously and asking things like, “What the f*ck is going on” with Truth Social.

He’s repeatedly groused about the negative press and the less-than-stellar optics of the rollout, these sources said. And he’s demanded to know why more people aren’t using it—why the app isn’t swiftly dominating the competition.

Sure enough, the numbers so far aren’t promising. Trump may have inspired a legion of copycats, but now he has to compete with a packed playing field of competitors following in his footsteps. For instance, Gab — the “free speech” service beloved by Nazis and other white supremacists — averages about 650,000 visitors a day. Truth Social kicked off with two million, but it’s already sunk to about 300,000. That’s not good news. That puts it on par with Gettr, the platform run by former Trump aide Jason Miller.

It gets even worse. As of Friday, Truth Social was the 72nd most popular app on the Apple AppStore. For contrast, Facebook is 5th and Twitter, his former favorite hangout, which permanently banned him over a year ago, ranks 22nd.

Now, the light traffic may be explained by the persistent long lines to get an account. I signed up for an account, obviously just for journalistic reasons, but I am still listed as being #300,100 on the waitlist and that number hasn’t moved in a week.

Once all the kinks are worked out, and remember, Devin Nunes is the one running this shit show, I have a feeling Truth Social will be just as successful as Trump Ice.
