Man Who Threatened to Cut Nancy Pelosi’s Head Off and Told AOC He Would ‘Rip Her Head Off’ Given 18 Months in Jail

One of the ugliest crimes associated with the end of the Trump administration, one springing from hatred of Democrats – especially women – that defies explanation, came to an end today. Per Politico, it sounds like the resolution was at the very least “acceptable.” VIDEO BELOW, From Politico:

A Florida man was sentenced Friday to a year and a half in federal prison for issuing a series of crude and violent threats to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Paul Hoeffer, 60, of Palm Beach Gardens, received the sentence at a hearing in Fort Pierce, Fla., after pleading guilty to three felony counts of making interstate threats against Pelosi (D-Calif.), Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and a prominent prosecutor in Chicago, Kim Foxx, court records show.

Prosecutors had asked U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon for a sentence of about 3½ years in prison for Hoeffer. His defense asked for leniency, noting that he was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer.

That’s the dry description. This comes from DOJ and prepare yourself:

As part of the plea, Hoeffer admitted that in March 2019, he called a Congresswoman in Washington, D.C. and threatened to come a “long, long, way” to rattle her head with bullets and cut her head off.

On the same day, Hoeffer also called a district attorney in the State of Illinois, telling her bullets were going to “rattle her brain.” Again, in November of 2020, Hoeffer called another Congresswoman, this time in New York.

One wants to see a stiffer sentence, and it sounds like absent cancer he would have received one. It would be great to read that a man who threatened Democratic lives (or vice versa, if it ever happens, which sure isn’t reported much, so…) got three years in prison. Such a sentence would thunder across the Right-Wing social media ecosystem. The “one” in front, “one and a half” years is psychologically less powerful than multiple years.

These are dangerous crimes and not just because of the terror it sends through the victims but also because eventually one of these guys is going to shout it out without thought and then convince themselves to be the only one to actually go through with it. Additionally, even hearing of others’ failures might convince the lone wolf elsewhere, “these guys are whimps, I’m the one for this job,” or something similar.

But, given the cancer – which matters – it is “acceptable” to see an 18-month sentence, in our opinion.
