Egomaniacal Trump Refuses to Cancel His Appearance at NRA Convention Because America Needs a ‘Real Leader’

Disgusting.

All of it. Yesterday was such a horrible day. I barely worked. I couldn’t fathom that 19 little kids were killed at school. At the end of the school year when they are all excited about summer and finishing the year. School work is usually done, and it’s replaced with field days and games and parties. But not for 19 kids in Uvalde, Texas. Their lifeless bodies lay on the floor of their school late into the night, when they were finally placed in body bags and taken to the medical examiner’s office.

Jesus fucking Christ. When will it stop? Yes, that’s rhetorical. It won’t stop. Republicans don’t care…they are only pro-life when it comes to my freaking uterus. And Democrats, we care…but our politicians are a bunch of pussies who are more likely to use the tragedy to get re-elected than to actually CHANGE SOMETHING.

Obviously, the NRA is a huge problem, and Republicans will do anything to stay in their good graces. Even look past children dying. Do you know what these bullets do to a 60-pound child’s body? Some children had to be positively identified with DNA for fuck’s sake. Parents had to identify their children’s bodies that were shredded by gunfire. No parent should have to go through that. A mother, who birthed her child from her body, or adopted them, has to identify the bloody, mangled body of her young child that reeks of gun powder and blood? I’m sorry but F*CK THAT.

But hey, the NRA has to make sure Americans keep their freedoms! Their freedom to own guns. What about the freedom to be free of dying from a gun? America is all about freedom. But it’s freedom TO. Freedom TO own a gun. Freedom TO say what you want. Freedom TO protest. What about freedom FROM? Freedom from being killed by a mentally ill 18-year-old? From FROM hospital bills that cause good people to go bankrupt. Freedom FROM going into debt for the rest of your life just to obtain an education.

Anyway, as expected, Donald Trump will still be attending and speaking at the NRA convention this weekend.

“America needs real solutions and real leadership in this moment, not politicians and partisanship,” wrote Trump. “That’s why I will keep my longtime commitment to speak in Texas at the NRA Convention and deliver an important address to America. In the meantime, we all continue to pray for the victims, their families, and for our entire nation—we are all in this together!”

God, how I hate that fucking man. Nothing is more important to him than adulation and applause. And the NRA? Like he’d ever give that up.

His wife squeaked out a tweet that was so typical and commonplace that it makes me want to vomit. And she didn’t even write it. She told some aide to do it:

The conference is scheduled for Friday, May 27 through Sunday, May 29, with Trump’s keynote speech scheduled for Friday. The NRA is currently touting the former president’s upcoming appearance on their homepage because GO TRUMP?

According to Mediaite, a spokesperson for Texas Sen. John Cornyn said that the senator would not be attending the conference, issuing a statement: “Prior to the tragedy today in Uvalde we had already informed the NRA he would not be able to speak due to an unexpected change in his schedule. He now has to be in D.C. for personal reasons on Friday.”

So he’s not going…but not because 19 kiddos died. He probably has a fancier shindig to attend.

Thus far, Gov. Greg Abbott and Sen. Ted Cruz still plan to attend the conference and are listed among the scheduled speakers because they are freaking vile.
