Kellyanne Throws Her Husband Under the Bus in New Book: ‘Trump Defended Me, George Didn’t’

Former presidential advisor Kellyanne Conway and her husband George pretty famously feuded publicly over Donald Trump.

Kellyanne had to defend Trump’s indefensible behavior, of course. She was in his employ. But George definitely did not, and often tweeted about what an idiot he considered Trump to be.

At times, they even included their daughter Claudia in their public drama.

Now Kellyanne has taken it a step further. In her new book Here’s The Deal, Kellyanne has taken the former president’s side over that of her own husband:

I had two men in my life. One was my husband. One was my boss, who happened to be president of the United States. One of those men was defending me. And it wasn’t George Conway. It was Donald Trump.

That. Is. Harsh.

Now, George was more than a critic of Trump during his presidency. He even helped found the Lincoln Project, whose sole aim was to prevent Trump from being reelected. They ran memorable ad campaigns and got donations from not just Democrats but moderate Republicans opposed to Trump as well.

But after a public fight with their daughter Claudia, each of them decided to take time away from work to spend more time with family. They have four kids together.

Trump himself viewed George’s criticisms of him as jealousy toward his wife. He tweeted in 2019,

George Conway, often referred to as Mr. Kellyanne Conway by those who know him, is VERY jealous of his wife’s success & angry that I, with her help, didn’t give him the job he so desperately wanted.

George Conway never sought a job within the Trump administration.

The couple married in 1998 and have four children together: twins Claudia and George IV, Charlotte, and Vanessa.

But Kellyanne didn’t hold back in the book. Talking about the balance between her marriage and her job, she lashed out at George in print again:

George was mixing the two of them in a highly combustible manner. I was able to keep these things separate and in perspective. George should have, too, but it seemed the flood of reaction and attention he was receiving was magnetic and irresistible.

I absolutely cannot imagine how these two are still married.
