Melania Trump Slams Biden Over Baby Formula Shortage When Her Husband Partially Caused the Problem
Melania Trump recently gave her first interview since leaving the White House and it was exactly what you’d expect. A Fox News interview which leading questions that most fifth-graders could answer.
And of course, the issue of the baby formula shortage came up, because for Melania and Fox News, it was the perfect opportunity to slam Biden and his administration.
Melania Trump said that the baby formula shortage in the U.S. is “heartbreaking”. Has anyone seen the series “The Dropout” about Elizabeth Holmes? Melania’s response reminded me of the end of “The Dropout” when Holmes was giving an interview and she had nothing to say so she kept repeating that she was “devastated” about what happened at Theranos. Holmes didn’t care. She didn’t care that real people were hurt by her product. Just like Melania doesn’t care. You just know that she dreaded doing this interview and just used a series of buzzwords to get through it so she could get back to the spa. Remember, on January 6th when the riots were in full force, Melania refused to talk to her husband. She was too busy taking photos of items in the White House that she could use for a future book. Think about that…too busy to ask her husband to stop the riots. Sheesh.
Sorry, tangent there.
Melania said, “It’s heartbreaking to see that they are struggling and the food is not available for children in 21st century in United States of America.”

“I think it’s sad to see what’s going on, if you really look deeply into it. I think a lot of people are struggling and suffering, and what is going on around the world as well, so it’s very sad to see and I hope it changes fast,” she said.
When asked why she thought the baby formula shortage was occurring, Melania took a shot at the Biden administration, saying: “Leadership.”
Fox News host/interviewer Pete Hegseth added, “Leadership, or lack thereof,” to which Melania responded, “Yeah.” (Nice leading there, Pete).
Two whole words. That’s all she said. “Leadership” and “Yeah.” Remember that Melania loves to talk about how intelligent she is. If she believes it is Biden’s fault, why doesn’t she delve into it and explain why? (You don’t have to answer that…she doesn’t know or care.)
The Biden administration has faced pressure all week over the baby formula shortage, with criticism intensifying daily.
The administration has been looking at a variety of ways to address the shortage, including by expanding flexibility in the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).
Asked a week ago on her last day at the White House if there was more the administration could have done sooner after a major company recalled its baby formula, press secretary Jen Psaki said, “Well look, hindsight is always 20-20.”
“But I would say, what’s important to note, is as much as this hasn’t been reported on, because people were not seeing shortages at the stores as much, there was an announced recall back in February and there were steps we have been taking every single day since then, with the [Food and Drug Administration] in the lead, to help address any potential shortage,” Psaki said.
And the truth is, Donald Trump also holds some responsibility.
Trump and his allies in the GOP have been using the shortage to lash out at Joe Biden and the Democrats. But Trump himself signed off on a policy that’s worsening the shortage.
The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, or USMCA, was basically an update to NAFTA. The North American Free Trade Agreement mostly eliminated tariffs and barriers to trade between the three countries in North America.
But the USMCA created at least one that could be having an impact on baby formula. You know one country that has a ton of baby formula and is rather close? Canada!
But Trump’s USMCA made it practically impossible to import formula into the US.
The US did all it could to prevent Canada from developing excess production capacity so we couldn’t compete with them in Asia.
That’s why they freaked about a Chinese dairy investment in Kingston, ON. They wanted it shut down. We said no, because jobs. It was a full blown thing.

Protectionist Republicans have always wanted to “win” on trade. Trump himself can’t even envision a deal of any kind that doesn’t end up with him “winning.”
But now, because of that mindset, Americans — and American BABIES — are losing. But I highly doubt Melania would understand that. Or care.
