AOC Destroys the Republican Party and Cowardly GOP Reps for Seeking Pardons for January 6th

One of the most shocking revelations coming from Thursday night’s hearings was the fact that ten (at a minimum) Republican representatives sought preemptive pardons over their role on January 6th. The news is simply stunning, and one wonders where the committee is going with the information, whether they know each member (almost surely yes), and what that member did that would warrant a pardon (probably yes).

From Newsweek:

On Thursday, Cheney, vice-chair of the panel, said that Rep. Scott Perry and “multiple other Republican congressmen” sought presidential pardons for their roles in attempting to overturn the 2020 election.

Perry was subpoenaed by the panel, along with four other sitting Republican lawmakers, for evidence, all of whom have refused to cooperate.

While the hearing was in session, the House GOP Judiciary Committee tweeted out:  “All. Old. News.”

And Rep. and perhaps future Sen. Gov. or President AOC tweeted back: Oh, so if it’s old news surely you wouldn’t mind reminding us which of your members sought pardons after the attack.”

Oh, snap. But she wasn’t done:

“Was it [Andrew] Clyde? Gosar? [Matt] Gaetz? [Jim] Jordan? [Lauren] Boebert? [Marjorie Taylor] Greene? Others? Please remind us House GOP—which of your current sitting members sought pardons after the attack? In addition to Rep. Scott Perry of course.”

It sounds to us like the members that sought blanket pardons are an open secret in the halls of congress. Indeed, a lot of January 6th is likely an “open secret” with Republicans wondering whether or not the Committee can prove it.

One thing is provable. People who know they’ve done nothing wrong, especially in their duty as congressional representatives, don’t seek blanket pardons ahead of time if they’re not worried about whether or not they committed a crime. You will notice there are only ten names mentioned or batted about, not one-hundred, or two-hundred. There are many GOP representatives that know they didn’t do anything criminal that day.

It sounds to us like many learned the hard way to not trust Donald Trump’s word if they were not given pardons. If they were given pardons, they just admitted that they did commit a crime that day.
