David Hogg Just Interrupted GOP Rep in Gun Control Hearing, Gets Thrown Out After Yelling ‘Guns are Not Coming From Mexico!’
David Hogg has been the young leader that this country has been waiting for (and there are many more like him than there are Kyle Rittenhouses). Hogg started when he was still in high school, and that is just fine. If you are old enough to be shot at by an assault rifle, you are old enough to have an opinion about it, and that includes the little children in Uvalde, the ones still alive, anyway.
Today, Hogg was in a congressional hearing. We have the video from the hearing within an hour of him posting it and do not have the context yet. We can guess that Hogg was interrupting a Republican talking about the dangers of illegal immigrants coming over the border from Mexico. There is a huge problem at the border. A record number of illegal immigrants crossed the border in May. Most were returned right back to Mexico. But any American president that followed Trump was destined to face a wave of illegal immigration. Trump was so inhumane, and COVID shut down movement anywhere that a backlog of people who wanted to immigrate to the U.S. built up.
So, given that Hogg stood up to say that the guns that are killing Americans (also at a record rate) are not coming from Mexico but from right here in the United States, it sounds like he was interrupting some Republican talking about the dangers presented by illegal aliens. Hogg seems to want to address a more immediate danger to this country, gun violence.
The guns in Parkland, Buffalo, El Paso, didn't come from Mexico. They came from the US, and the shooters were inspired by racist, anti-black, anti-immigrant manifestos that rhyme with GOP talking points. pic.twitter.com/0D4QbHvu1t

And that is how it is done. Twitter stood and cheered Hogg on:
You go! I own guns. Protection and hunting is my thing. I don’t need an assault weapon of mass destruction to protect my family or hunt. Responsible gun legislation is what we need. I’m for banning assault weapons. Trouble is it won’t stop there. Good luck.

Whenever I see someone post “SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED” I counter by asking which handgun a toddler should take to pre-school and what firearm is best for someone to carry during their prison sentence.

Teaching them early.
This 'BB gun' being sold at my local Tractor Supply Co. in Ohio. @TractorSupply
Manufacturer obviously targeting (pardon evil pun) pre teen concept of looking 'cool'.
There is NO other functional reason for this design.🤔 pic.twitter.com/U0gDaogC4U— Christopher Gibbs (@ChrisRGibbs) July 20, 2022
2A crowd "you can't punish responsible gun owners by threatening to take their guns away!"
"So let's pass sensible gun laws to protect law abiding gun owners' rights, like paper trails for aftermarket gun sales?"
"It's none of your business who I sell my guns to!"

It is absolutely insane that there are people who think that Mexico—a country with ONE SINGLE gun shop run by the army—is sending guns to the US. The truth is the other way around. Our guns fuel gun violence south of the border, it's why they built this sign facing Texas! pic.twitter.com/bdISFByuTN
