Here are the 18 Russia-Loving ‘Treason Caucus’ Reps Who Voted Against Sweden and Finland Joining NATO
Could they possibly make it more obvious?
There has been a very subtle shift on Twitter that one has to watch daily to detect. Sure, at the start of the Ukrainian war, there was near universal support for Ukraine from both sides, with only Tucker, Gabbard, and Cawthorn maybe grumbling about the money going to Ukraine. Mike Flynn was furious that we would “prolong” so much suffering in Ukraine by sending them money and weapons to defend themselves. Flynn must have believed it was more humane to let Russia mow democracy right into the ground.
Trump said that Putin was negotiating brilliantly. But even Trump said that it wasn’t smart to invade Ukraine. Most MAGAs on Twitter supported Ukraine.
And then things started to shift over the course of about two months. More and more, the average MAGA on Twitter would start complaining about the money that “we don’t have” going to Ukraine, and some even started to talk about “supporting the Nazis” in Ukraine, mimicking Russia’s justification for the war. Tucker Carlson said he didn’t care. Then the politicians began to tepidly talk about the harm we were doing by prolonging the war, always the usual suspects, indeed there was almost direct overlap between the people who asked for pardons and the people questioning the war.
Today, the House voted on whether to allow Sweden and Finland to join NATO. Finland, of course, borders Russia and thus has a real interest in the protection, and in the Baltic Sea, Sweden is not much further than some of the Finish ports. Of course, the more partners the United States has in Europe the more protection the U.S. has if there is ever an attack on American soil (such as 9-11). NATO also prevents wars. Putin wouldn’t have invaded Ukraine had it been a NATO member.

There is a consensus among those close to Trump that Trump was going to pull the United States out of NATO in a second term.
Why? Because there is nothing that Putin wants more than NATO destroyed. Putin wants to rebuild Russia’s dominance in Eastern Europe. And Trump did what Putin wanted, in case you didn’t notice. Trump is not the only one. The treason caucus believes the same thing.
So, the vote today about whether to allow Sweden and Finland into NATO got broad bipartisan support. Nearly every Republican voted to expand NATO. The only Republicans to vote no? You guessed it, the Trump treason caucus:
The treason caucus doesn’t support Sweden and Finland joining NATO?
Color me not at all shocked. https://t.co/VKfZQtU1pc

The 18 Republicans who voted against it were Reps. Andy Biggs (Ariz.), Dan Bishop (N.C.), Lauren Boebert (Colo.), Madison Cawthorn (N.C.), Ben Cline (Va.), Michael Cloud (Texas), Warren Davidson (Ohio), Matt Gaetz (Fla.), Bob Good (Va.), Marjorie Taylor Greene (Ga.), Morgan Griffith (Va.), Thomas Massie (Ky.), Tom McClintock (Calif.), Mary Miller (Ill.), Ralph Norman (S.C.), Matt Rosendale (Mont.), Chip Roy (Texas) and Jeff Van Drew (N.J.).
And Twitter was furious. This is a matter of the United States leading the free world and making it safe for democracy.
I doubt anyone on that list could find Finland on a map if their next dark-money payout depended on it.

I sometimes wonder whether MTG might have been specifically recruited by someone in the NRA-Russia orbit.

Now why would they want a weaker NATO ? Who would that benefit ? Real head scratcher 🤔

Yanno I’m about sick to death of this group along with a few others! They seems to vote against everything that would be a benefit to people and vote for everything that’s bad for people
