Eric Trump Wants Everyone to Know That HE Knew About the Raid First…Not Ivanka, Not Don Jr…It Was ERIC

In an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity on Monday, Eric Trump said he was the one who told his father, former president, Donald Trump, that Mar-a-Lago was being searched by the FBI.

In the interview with Hannity, the younger Trump said he was “the guy that got the call this morning,” Insider reports.

“I called my father and let it know that it happened,” Eric Trump said. “So I was involved in this all day.”

This was, of course, in reference to the FBI search of Mar-a-Lago, which lit up social media Monday. And of course, the former president reacted with his usual bombast, claiming the FBI “broke into his safe” when executing the search warrant and complained that the raid was “politically motivated.” This is really kind of hilarious since Trump himself appointed the FBI’s current director, Christopher Wray.

Eric was recently seen playing golf with his father at the LIV Golf Tournament at Bedminister

And Eric Trump is just feckless enough to complain to Hannity that he thinks there is “no family in American history that has taken more arrows in the back than the Trump family.”

I’m sure that many indigenous families in this country, whose ancestors have been here for thousands of years, and who died in the millions, thanks to our ancestors, may feel differently as might any Black family who’s had a loved one cut down by cops for no good reason. Like maybe Breonna Taylor’s family, for instance?

But that isn’t in the younger Trump’s wheelhouse. He seems to figure “why waste a perfectly good complaint when you can tell it to someone else?

“Every day, we get another subpoena,” he said. “That’s what this is about today, to have 30 FBI agents — actually more than that —descend on Mar-a-Lago give absolutely, you know, no notice. Go through the gate, start ransacking an office, ransacking a closet. You know, they broke into a safe. He didn’t even have anything in the safe. I mean, give me a break.”

Trump told Hannity he thinks the FBI was looking for things his dad likes to keep, like “press clippings,” and other items.

“You’d have, you know, newspaper articles, pictures, notes from us. When my mom passed away a couple of weeks ago, you know, he still had all the notes,” Trump said. “You know, over the years they’ve been saved all the notes that she had ever written them. Hey man, it’s a beautiful thing. My father saves clippings and things like that.”

Trump noted his father had taken “boxes” with him during his hurried move out of the White House.

“If you want to search for anything, if you think anything — like, come right ahead,” he said. “It was an open-door policy.”

While Eric may think his family has an “open-door policy,” the Trumps have actually been pretty stubborn about handing over documents and cooperating with investigations.

After all, Donald trump was found in contempt of court last April and ordered to pay New York Attorney General Letitia James a fine of $10,000 per day after failing to comply with a subpoena to hand over personal business documents. That order was lifted in June after Trump’s lawyers provided more information.

Donald Trump is obviously very upset about the raid, and should be worried.

We don’t really know what the FBI was searching for during the raid, but three sources did tell CNN that this may stem from the documents that may have been improperly taken from the White House.

You may remember that earlier this year (in February) the National Archives requested that the DOJ investigate whether Trump broke the law when he brought government records from the White House to Mar-a-Lago.

So Donald Trump has a persecution complex. But just think, if he hadn’t done anything wrong, he wouldn’t even have to worry about it, now would he?
