Veteran Political Analyst Fired After Mocking Trump for His ‘Looming Orange Face’

One news station in Atlanta, Georgia fired its veteran political analyst Bill Crane on Monday after Crane mocked former president Donald Trump on air Sunday.

In a statement Monday, WSB-TV general manager Ray Carter addressed Crane’s firing, writing that he had “uttered remarks not aligned with our commitment for fair and unbiased reporting and analysis. As a result, we’re ending our relationship with Mr. Crane effective immediately. We value the trust we’ve fostered for decades with our viewers, and we continue working hard to earn and maintain that trust.”

Mediaite reports that the situation that led to Crane’s firing began when he was asked to comment on Sen. Lindsey Graham’s (R-S.C.) recent legal predicament as the Fulton County prosecutor investigating alleged efforts to influence the outcome of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia.

Trump once had a major orange makeup mishap at a White House Christmas Party.

I think Crane’s comment was pretty mild, but I’ll let you decide:

“Labor Day is when undecided voters and nonaligned voters really start focusing on the election ahead and keeping Donald Trump and his fantasy of elections being stolen in November of 2020 in play, keeps Donald Trump and his looming orange face in front of voters at a time when they’re trying to decide how they’re trying to vote,” Crane said at the time.

After being let go, Crane took to social media to discuss the situation.

“I offered that it is part of Democratic Party strategy to keep President Trump’s fantasy of a stolen election in play, as well as to keep his orange face looming large as a bogeyman to increase Democratic voter turnout, even though Donald Trump is NOT on the ballot anywhere in 2022,” he wrote.

“Perhaps in my verbiage, I certainly could have been a bit more PC,” Crane added. “I would like to think part of the reason I have been able to do this for 22 years in a top 10 media market is that I call the hard balls and strikes on either side, and attempt to do so with a bit of humor, sarcasm, the occasional pun, and tongue-in-cheek.

Crane also said he has referred to Trump as “The Orange Man” on several occasions before but still offered an apology in case anyone was offended.

Trump’s face is orange, that’s a fact.

So Crane gets canned for this mild comment but Trump says such un-PC things as “grab ’em by the p**sy, suggests perhaps it would be okay if Mike Pence were to be hanged and talks about “sh*thole countries” and that’s okay?

Fortunately, we fired him in November 2020 whether he chooses to believe it or not.
