As I am sure you have noticed, conservatives have spent the better part of the last year demonizing LGBTQ people in an effort to push them further to the margins of society. No surprise there, right?

Lately, that’s led many right-wing figures to become bizarrely infatuated with drag shows. Yep, drag shows. The fun entertainment shows where men dress up as famous women in entertainment and put on a show. It’s fun and if ever given an opportunity to attend one you should.

But for Republicans who try to enforce rigid and outdated gender roles in nearly all aspects of society, drag shows are an easy target. People, who are usually gay people, happily wearing clothes that defy gender norms embody a world conservatives want us to believe is dangerous, especially to children.

Never mind that these claims come from members of a party that pledges fealty to Donald Trump on almost an hourly basis. Yep, the man who’s made sexual comments about his daughter in the past, been accused of walking in on teen beauty pageant participants as they were getting dressed, partied and did God knows what with Jeffrey Epstein, and offered kind words to Epstein’s partner Ghislaine Maxwell ahead of her trial.

Nonetheless, Republicans consistently claim LGBTQ people, and drag queens especially, are the real child predators. Or, they use their new favorite word…”groomers”. And across the board, they’re embracing extreme measures to oppress and ostracize these people.

So take that all into account when you look at this photo that was taken sometime earlier this year. It shows some scantily clad women, wearing fishnet tights, showing off their moneymakers, while some Trump-loving rednecks hold a “Fuck Biden” sign in front of a bunch of children who are all holding up their middle fingers. These children look to be anywhere from 6 to 12 or 13 years of age. Little kids!
