Fox News Reports: If GOP Wins the House, Pelosi Wants to Be Ambassador to Italy
The GOP is acting as though the 2022 mid-terms are sealed up as a win. Sure, it is more likely than not, by a small margin, that the GOP wins the House. But Democrats have a lot of momentum right now. But if the GOP takes the House, that would make Nancy Pelosi minority leader, sapping her of all the power she once had. She has worked so hard for so long that ending her career as the ambassador to Italy sounds wonderful and earned.
According to Fox Business, that is exactly what is planned, even though everyone would prefer that she continue on as Speaker:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is planning her next move after an expected Republican victory in November. Sources tell FOX Business that Pelosi wants President Biden to nominate her to become the next U.S. ambassador to Italy if the GOP takes the House majority in the midterm elections.
Biden is holding the spot for the speaker, sources say, which is one reason he has yet to fill the position since taking office. There was no clarity yet on how a new Senate will react to a Pelosi nomination, but there was a mixed reaction to her in the role from sources this week.

And it sounds like a pretty nice place:
The ambassador’s residence, Villa Taverna, boasts a pool, private gardens and a three-story wine cellar, in Rome.
Given that the United States has especially good relations with Italy, it is not likely to be a tough job with serious issues (Such as an ambassadorship to Iran, China, and Hungary), and so it would be fitting. But let’s hope she continues as Speaker.
Rick Scott doesn’t think it will happen since Pelosi is too “partisan” lol:
Rick Scott was asked about reports that Nancy Pelosi will be nominated as Ambassador to Italy after the midterms. He says Rs will be unlikely to vote to confirm her because she is too partisan. pic.twitter.com/nBDUNrjuCV
