I was surfing on Twitter, as I am wont to do, and I saw that “staged” was trending. Ugh. And I had a feeling I knew why.

Friday morning the husband of Nancy Pelosi was attacked in their San Francisco home. Paul Pelosi was attacked with a hammer, a freaking HAMMER, and is now in the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery, thank God.

The intruder confronted him shouting for the speaker’s whereabouts, “where’s Nancy” he yelled.

“The motive for this attack is still being determined,” said San Francisco Police Chief William Scott at a press briefing.

The suspect has been identified as David Depape, Scott said. He is in custody.

“Our officers observed Mr. Pelosi and the suspect both holding a hammer,” Scott said. “The suspect pulled the hammer away from Mr. Pelosi and violently assaulted him with it. Our officers immediately tackled the suspect, disarmed him, took him into custody, requested emergency backup and rendered medical aid.”

Scott said Depape was being charged with attempted homicide, assault with a deadly weapon, elder abuse aand other charges.

Thus far, it’s looking like Depape is exactly who we expected him to be:

Anyway, back to STAGED.

I looked through the hashtag, and, it appears many on the right think the attack on Pelosi was staged. Take a look:

I’m supposed to believe that someone broke into Nancy Pelosi’s house and assaulted her husband.

Like they don’t have armed guards and a security system.
