Marjorie Taylor Greene Rages at Media for Not Believing the ‘Pelosi Gay Lover’ Story

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) is all out of sorts because people doubt the ludicrous right-wing conspiracy theory about House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) husband Paul having a secret gay lover who tried to kill him, LGBTQNation reports.

When a MAGA-obsessed man broke into Pelosi’s San Francisco home Friday and asked “Where’s Nancy?” she wasn’t there, but Paul was. The man attacked him with a hammer and Paul Pelosi has been hospitalized as a result.

David DePape, the man who was arrested in connection with the attack, is a rabid right-wing conspiracy theory fan, but that hasn’t prevented other right-wingers from creating an equally weird and completely fictional narrative about DePape and Paul Pelosi being lovers who got into a drunken fight according to Politico.

Neophyte Twitter CEO Elon Musk didn’t help matters when he suggested the story might be true, tweeting at former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton a link to an article from a far-right website called The Santa Monica Observer. This is the same website that claimed Clinton had died and been replaced by a body double during her 2016 debates against Donald Trump.

Musk eventually deleted the tweet, but the Twitterati sprang into action with a verbal brow-beating for spreading misinformation and for not apologizing and tweeting a correction so that his millions of followers wouldn’t believe a completely baseless story blaming the attack on San Francisco’s LGBTQ community.

And that’s what ticked Greene off — the suggestion that Musk did anything wrong by spreading misinformation.

“The same mainstream media democrat activists that sold conspiracy theories for years about President Trump and Russia are now blaming Elon Musk for ‘internet misinformation’ about Paul Pelosi’s friend attacking him with a hammer,” even though there is no evidence that Pelosi and DePape were friends.

But that’s Greene for you, and she capped her tweet off with “The media is source of misinformation.”

Poor Marjorie seems to forget that she’s also a major “source of misinformation,” when it comes to crackpot conspiracy theories. In an infamous Facebook post in 2018, she blamed prominent Jewish people for causing wildfires in California with space lasers.

“…they are beaming the suns energy back to Earth, I’m sure they wouldn’t miss a transmitter receiving station right??!!” she wrote.

“What would that look like anyway?” she asked. “A laser beam or a light beam coming down to Earth I guess. Could that cause a fire? Hmmm, I don’t know. I hope not! That wouldn’t look good for [Pacific Gas & Electric], Rothschild Inc, Solaren or Jerry Brown who sure does seem fond of PG&E.”

She’s also turned herself into a repository for right-wing hate directed at LGBTQ individuals, repeating alongside other top Republicans the false claim that parents and schools are forcing kids to become transgender. Something that’s absolutely NOT happening. And she’s ridiculously claimed earlier this year that parents with trans kids “think [having a trans child is] like a handbag.” She’s also asserted that “Democrats want to turn your kids gay.”

While Greene is just plain awful in a number of ways, probably the worst thing she’s done is to give QAnon theory any credibility. She also (in 2020) suggested Nancy Pelosi should be sentenced to death for not supporting Trump’s border wall.

“[Pelosi’s] a traitor to our country, she’s guilty of treason. She took an oath to protect American citizens and uphold our laws, and she gives aid and comfort to our enemies who illegally invade our land — that’s what treason is. And by our law, representatives and senators can be kicked out and no longer serve in our government, and it’s a crime punishable by death is what treason is. Nancy Pelosi is guilty of treason and we want her out of our government.”

Greene’s gullibility and delusional thinking make her a dangerous person and I have no idea why she hasn’t been permanently banned from Twitter, like the man she idolizes so much, Donald Trump. Who’s considering her as a potential vice president if he runs again.

That is a scary thought.
