Americans Roar After Boebert’s LGBTQ Hatred and Hypocrisy, Offers ‘Prayers’ to Colorado Springs Victims
Colorado Springs is not in Lauren Boebert’s district, but it is certainly in close enough proximity that it would hit Boebert’s constituents close to home, some constituents even more than others, some toward which she’s spread nothing but hate. Many in the LGBTQ+ community pointed to the hypocrisy of her statement.
The news out of Colorado Springs is absolutely awful.
This morning the victims & their families are in my prayers.
This lawless violence needs to end and end quickly.

Given that the shooting occurred at an LGBTQ+ nightclub that regularly hosted special events, including drag shows, Americans from all over the country quickly laid out Boebert’s horrific record regarding this community for all to see.
You encouraged this. You are the hate that leads to violence. pic.twitter.com/aZnBg3KBVw

Another very loose tie between Boebert and the shooter is that Anderson Lee Aldrich (22-year-old shooter) is the grandson of a retiring California state MAGA Rep. who compared January 6th to Concord and Lexington, or “1776,” as did Boebert. As stated, it is a very loose connection but emblematic of the hatred for LGBTQ “groomers” and “drag queens” that permeates the MAGA-America First community.
Others were quick to also reach into Boebert’s very recent past (this is really only the last two years) of fomenting hatred of our LGBTQ brothers and sisters:

You are to blame. LGBT+ people like me are less safe in this country because of the rhetoric and hate spewed by people like you. Keep your thoughts and prayers.

Of course, all this is on top of the fact that no one has been a bigger gun advocate than Lauren Boebert, near-religious worship of guns (talk about church) in the face of shooting after shooting. This isn’t even the lone mass shooting in her state in the two years in which she served. She took down her gun shrine used during Zoom conferences after the Boulder, Colorado shooting in March of 2021 at which ten were killed.
President Biden released a statement today that read, in part:
Earlier this year, I signed the most significant gun safety law in nearly three decades, in addition to taking other historic actions.
But we must do more. We need to enact an assault weapons ban to get weapons of war off America’s streets.
And who will be one of the strongest opponents against such legislation? Of course, Lauren Boebert. Meanwhile, the reminders kept coming in:
So are you going to stop demonizing the LGBTQ community, or no?

You never cared, you're part of the reason this happened. Save your prayers and pay for their funerals. pic.twitter.com/zZvdEo8mx8

And to close out with a real message from another member of Congress calling out Boebert’s utter hypocrisy and hatred:
