Elton John Quits Twitter For Good and Elon Musk is Rather Offended and Responds
Sir Elton John has officially left Twitter and Elon Musk isn’t happy about this. The beloved “Rocket Man” announced Friday that he was leaving the social media platform, claiming it was now allowing unchecked misinformation to spread.
“All my life I’ve tried to use music to bring people together,” John wrote. “Yet it saddens me to see how misinformation is now being used to divide our world.”
“I’ve decided to no longer use Twitter, given their recent change in policy which will allow misinformation to flourish unchecked,” he said.

John’s post has drawn more than 186,000 “likes” and more than 55,000 replies with most (I hope) wishing him well. The response led the term “misinformation” to begin a trending tsunami of at least 128,000 tweets so far.

Then Elon Musk stepped in.
“I love your music,” the Tesla and SpaceX CEO wrote. “Hope you come back. Is there any misinformation in particular that you’re concerned about?”

Apparently, Musk hasn’t been reading much of the right-wing rhetoric, conspiracy theories, and just plain hate speech that is now proliferating on the platform. But Elton John isn’t having it anymore, and neither are Whoopi Goldberg, Shonda Rhimes, Jim Carrey, and Gigi Hadid.
In the thread under Musk’s post, one user posted that perhaps it was a “Marxist social media person” who tweeted that on Elton John’s behalf.”
That led to this response from Musk:
“It’s true that most celebrities don’t write their own posts. More should. Way better to hear directly from them.”

Musk has really bungled Twitter and turned it into a cesspool of unhinged hate and misinformation. It’s become the perfect platform for extremist right-wingers like Marjorie Taylor Greene to spew their dangerous words. She is virulently homophobic and transphobic. I think the tweet she posted below speaks for itself. And what’s worse is she’s just one of who knows how many people spreading such misinformation.
Pass my Protect Children’s Innocence Act to stop communist groomers like this from using state government power to take children away from their parents to allow a for-profit medical industry to chop off these confused children’s genitals before they are even old enough to vote. https://t.co/QZ8SFRnY7m

This has to be the dumbest assessment of our Senate loss,
His campaign told Trump to stay out, so don’t blame Trump.
Blame the one who was hand holding him all over the state, among many other reasons. https://t.co/yvVB0urpDT

Seriously. Who can blame Sir Elton for opting out of this?
And just because:
