2024 Election

Trump Humiliates Himself (Again) By Stating There Can’t Be Global Warming Since It’s Cold in Buffalo

Former President Donald Trump has long been a science denier. especially when it comes to climate science. And on Thursday he decided to take part in even more nonsense when he asked on his Truth Social platform “Whatever happened to Global Warming?” in the aftermath of a devastating storm that has resulted in 37 deaths in Western New York.

Trump, who is running for president for the third time in the 2024 election, has denied the science of climate change for years and spouts misinformation about the dangers we face as it continues to worsen. And his administration took an ax to crucial environmental protections in favor of oil and gas companies, Yahoo!Entertainment reports.

Trump has since received a good kicking over his dumb comment about the storm that has ravaged the Buffalo area and obstructed travel across the country during Christmas time.

That included one particularly clever gibe from Aaron Rupar, who tweeted:

“Checkmate, libs.”

Trump has made other clueless remarks about climate change in the past.

“In the beautiful Midwest, windchill temperatures are reaching minus 60 degrees, the coldest ever recorded. In coming days, expected to get even colder,” he tweeted. “People can’t last outside even for minutes. What the hell is going on with Global Waming (sic)? Please come back fast, we need you!”

Trump has frequently insisted that isolated cold weather is proof the climate crisis isn’t happening. Even at one point claiming “the concept of global warming” was somehow created by China.

He’s also tweeted other nonsensical things, including:

“This very expensive GLOBAL WARMING b*llsh*t has got to stop. Our planet is freezing, record low temps, and our GW scientists are stuck in ice.”

And:

“The weather has been so cold for so long that the global warming HOAXSTERS were forced to change the name to climate change to keep $ flow!”

This is something only a truly ignorant person would say. For anyone foolish enough to doubt whether anthropogenic (human-caused) climate change is happening, here’s what NASA has to say about it:

“It’s important to remember that scientists always focus on the evidence, not on opinions. Scientific evidence continues to show that human activities (primarly the human burning of fossil fuels) have warmed Earth’s surface and its ocean basins, which in turn have continued to impact Earth’s climate. This is based on over a century of scientific evidence forming the structural backbone of today’s civilization.

Who the hell is Donald Trump to doubt NASA? If he’s worried about “b*llsh*t” maybe he’d better look in the mirror.
