Well, it looks like Donald Trump is getting very afraid of Ron DeSantis, and rightfully so. Republicans are tired of Trump’s schtick. The meanness, the constant need for adulation and revenge. It gets old. DeSantis is just as awful as Trump, if not worse. But he’s young, handsome, and doesn’t do the mean stuff.

So it’s no surprise that Trump is dropping pretty low to hurt DeSantis.

On Tuesday, Trump took to Truth Social to accuse DeSantis of drinking and hanging out with young girls when he was a teacher. This photo has been around for a while, with our friends at Hill Reporter and Meidas Touch originally breaking the news.

According to an exclusive report from Hill Reporter, back in 2001, when Ron was a mere 23 years old, his bachelor’s degrees in poli sci and history earned him a position teaching at Darlington School, a private college prep boarding school serving K-12 students in Rome, Georgia.

Being as the upper age at that academy is 18, there really shouldn’t be any drinking going on among students there at all. But kids are kids, and so this photo of a few girls, one holding a beer, surfaced when an anonymous source floated it to the publisher of Hill Reporter:

That guy in the middle, though? He’s clearly not a kid. In fact, he looks suspiciously like a guy named Ron from the staff photos in the Darlington yearbook.

“Five years isn’t that big an age gap,” you might say, but bring Ron down to the age of the girls in this photo and suddenly the girls are only 13. Um, gross. Who does that remind me of? Oh, I remember:

And Trump saw the photo and quickly took to Truth Social. Another Truth Social user posted the photo and Trump reposted it and said, “That’s not Ron, is it? He would never do such a thing!”

Of course Trump is being sarcastic, he often writes that way to keep plausible deniability. This way he gets it both ways. He is obviously being sarcastic…insinuating DeSantis would party with underage girls. But if ever called on it, Trump can merely say “Hey, I said he would never do such a thing!” Trump is not dumb.

Then Trump posted about it again, almost immediately. Another poster wrote, “Ron DeSantis was having a “drink” party with his students when he was a high school teacher. Having drinks with underage girls and cuddling with them certainly look pretty gross and ephebophiliaesque.”

To which Trump responded, “No way?”

Ephebophilia is a form of pedophilia, where men prefer young teenage girls. So yeah, Trump is basically calling DeSantis a pedophile, which is really rich considering Trump once joked about a 10-year-old girl’s physical appearance, saying “I’ll be dating her in ten years.” He’s said that if Ivanka were not his daughter, he’d “perhaps” be dating her. He told a pair of 14-year-old girls, “wow! Just think — in a couple of years, I’ll be dating you!” Trump also reportedly walked into the Miss Teen USA dressing rooms while contestants, many of whom were under 18, were changing.
