Trump Boots Very Loyal Former Lawyer Jenna Ellis From Trump World, And You’ll Never Believe Why

Trump supporters are all out of sorts because Jenna Ellis, a former attorney for the former president, is too friendly with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

This is a weird thing to be upset over, but Trump supporters — go figure. Most of them are several bricks short of a chimney anyway.

You may remember that Ellis, who supported the Big Lie, and therefore, critics say, disgraced the legal profession, joined Sidney Powell, Rudy Giuliani, and other Trump lawyers to claim the election was stolen from Trump via widespread voter fraud. Something that as AlterNet reports, has been widely and solidly debunked.

Ellis, who is notably nutty, was censured in March by the Colorado Supreme Court. According to a legal document in the People of the State of Colorado v. Jenna Lynn Ellis reports that Ellis, representing Trump’s reelection campaign “repeatedly made misrepresentations on national television and on Twitter, undermining the American public’s confidence in the 2020 presidential election.” As part of her censure, Ellis has reversed her bogus claims about the 2020 election.

She has since disappeared from Trumpland, where she is now apparently persona non grata, notes the Daily Beast’s Zachary Petrizzo because she is friendly with DeSantis.

“Jenna Ellis, who served as a senior Trump legal adviser after the 2020 election, is the latest Republican to play both sides and get burned,” Petrizzo writes in the April 19 story. “She has carefully been trying to navigate the two power bases of the modern GOP, tweeting nice things about Trump and DeSantis while also trying to maintain friendships in both camps. But in Trumpworld — where loyalty seems to mean complete devotion to Trump — Ellis is getting more than a taste of the wrath of the former president’s diehard supporters.”

Trump has been continually attacking DeSantis, especially since it looks like the GOP Florida governor will soon be tossing his hat into the 2024 presidential campaign, even though he hasn’t yet officially announced this. And, as Petrizzo writes, some of Trump’s supporters are angry at Ellis for attending a DeSantis event.

One Trumpland source who spoke on condition of anonymity told Petrizzo “It all started when she went to a DeSantis event at Doral and made it a point to post pictures of herself with his social media influencers, almost like she was trying to rub it in. Now, she’s regretting her transgressions. F**k around and find out.”

And one Trump adviser, who also spoke on condition of anonymity, told Petrizzo, regarding Trump and Ellis that “He thinks she’s a terrible lawyer. He’s very down on her. He thinks he now has great lawyers. She wasn’t one of them.”

Another one of Trump’s supporters, the far-right consultant Alex Bruesewitz, has been bashing Ellis on Twitter, Petrizzo writes. In one instance Bruesewitz posted an image of Stormy Daniels’s face “superimposed on Ellis’s body.”

Ellis, Petrizzo notes, is well aware that some Trump allies have turned against her.

“If people around (Trump) are so desperate (that) they want to try to ice me out for perceived lack of loyalty, have at it,” Ellis, who’s solidly far-right, said. “Loyalty is a two-way street. I declined to work for the Trump 2024 campaign and in other capacities. I’m principled, so I won’t participate in the false attacks against the best Republican governor in the country. I like Gov. DeSantis, and I like President Trump (ugh.) But only one side is calling me a porn star and won’t denounce sexual harassment. I don’t think this strategy will ultimately help Trump.”

Unlike right-wing extremist author Ann Coulter, who formerly supported Trump and is now one of his harshest critics, Ellis isn’t slamming the former president, but she’s saying nice things about DeSantis, and that’s rubbed those in Trump’s orbit the wrong way.

“Ellis seems to have triggered Trumpworld for a variety of reasons. For one, those in Trump’s orbit point to her backtracking when it comes to claims of voter fraud in the 2020 election, which many of Trump’s lieutenants — and the former president himself — continue to falsely push. For another, there’s just a perceived lack of ‘loyalty,’ multiple sources said,” per Petrizzo. “Speaking highly of DeSantis seems to be just as bad as talking ill of Trump.”

So Jenna Ellis, who helped spread the infamous Big Lie, is now being slammed by prominent Trumpertistas. It’s what she gets. These people can’t stand it when someone no longer spreads false claims that have no factual basis and it means Ellis and all these folks deserve each other.
