I have no idea why so many right-wing whackjobs keep insisting Dr. Jill Biden is a physician, aka a medical doctor. She’s made it plain, all kinds of other outlets (including ours) have made it plain that she has a doctorate in educational leadership, not medical science.

I mean really, this is a level of unparalleled stupid. As DeadState reports, Biden earned her doctorate from the University of Delaware and has more than 30 years of experience as a teacher. She even kept her teaching position at Northern Virginia Community College throughout Joe Biden’s stint as vice president and president. Dr. Biden is the only first lady to hold a full-time job outside of the White House.

But during a segment of Fox News’ The Five on Saturday, cohost Greg Gutfeld said the first lady doesn’t deserve to be called “Dr.”

“It’s not so much that the Biden family is a criminal family — because they are — it’s that the media is so lethergic about this corruption. There’s nothing that comes close to this that the Trump family did. You wonder where Woodward and Bernstein are, Gutfeld said, clearly suggesting Trump’s indictment for allegedly mishandling classified documents was poltically motivated.

“But I have to say turnabout is fair play,” he commented, adding, “I’m not that interested in locking up Hunter or Joe Biden, but the other side would lock up every one of us if they could. So, let’s go. Let’s effin’ go, let’s take them out, let’s put them behind bars.”

Co-host Jesse Watters jumped in, saying “all of them” should be arrested, including Nancy Pelosi.

There was a little bit of back-and-forth and that’s when Gutfeld suggested he’d like to see Jill Biden go to prison as well.

“She’s not a real doctor,” he said, in jest (we think). “How long has she been practicing on patients, telling them that she’s an actual doctor?”

It’s probable that Gutfeld was being sarcastic, but he’s not the only conservative media figure who’s attacked Jill Biden over her title. Former Fox News/NBC News host Megyn Kelly has claimed Biden has used that doctor title too much.

Kelly blasted Biden’s doctorate as a “fake title” after the NFC championship game in Philadelphia introduced Dr. Biden.

“Announcers for this Eagles-49ers game just spotted the First Lady in a box and of course call her ‘Dr. Jill Biden.’ Wonder if she realizes what a wannabe she looks like insisting on this fake title. Get a real MD or just work on your self-esteem,” Kelly posted on Twitter.

Perhaps Megyn was having a little too much of her favorite tipple. I mean this is a woman who got into a big flap years ago while still on Fox News by declaring Santa Claus is white. She’s also insisted Jesus is white and defended white people wearing blackface.

Yet she criticizes Jill Biden for appropriately using her Dr. title.

Go figure.
