Rumor Has it Melania Grabbed Barron and Took Off to Europe for the Summer — No Campaigning for Her, Thank You Very Much!

Donald Trump is a creature of habit and he spent June 14, his 77th birthday on his golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey. He later attended dinner with family and close friends, but according to SheKnows, it isn’t clear if Melania was in attendance.

Folks are wondering about this because earlier on the same day she and her son Barron Trump, 17, were seen leaving Trump Tower in New York City. Both were smartly dressed and it looked like they were headed somewhere of note because of this. Melania wore a crisp white dress and Barron wore a blue sport coat and white button-down shirt. Bellmen rolled out Louis Vuitton luggage, piling it into several waiting vehicles, per the Daily Mail.

The Mail speculated that mother and son may have made a quick trip to Trump’s New Jersey golf course, but believed it was likelier that the two were headed to Europe. Melania and Barron have purportedly been “planning to go on a grand European tour during the summer months.”

That’s a lot of luggage for a few days at Bedminster, which is why people think Melania went to Europe as she originally planned.

And perhaps one of the few good things about Melania is that Barron has always been first and foremost her biggest priority, well above her husband’s political ambitions. It’s not surprising to see her take off on such a trip in order to avoid the spotlight and the campaign trail.

And of course the Trumps have suit bags with the presidential emblem. Of course they do!

Donald Trump’s legal travails have caused a flood of headlines that have put her in the spotlight, something that she dislikes intensely and she’s been reluctant to participate in his third White House bid.

“Barron has always been a first priority in [Melania’s] life,” one person told People. “Of course, she is worried and and concerned about the legal issues but she has not done anything more to protect Barron now than she ever did. She has always put him first. She’s a good mother.”

The teen will be entering his senior year of high school next fall, and it’s not difficult to see that Melania is sticking to mom mode and spending time with her son while she can. It’s pretty obvious Melania really doesn’t like being around her husband and seeking refuge in Europe is a good way for her and Barron to get away from what must seem, at times, like a deeply unpleasant situation.

But if this is an unpleasant situation for her, it’s a mystery to me why she continues to stay married. She renegotiated her prenuptial agreement, so maybe that’s keeping her in the arrangement.
