Perhaps Claudia Conway, the daughter of Kellyanne Conway, earned some of her feistiness from her Dad, George Conway. At any rate, like her father, she has more than a little bit of contempt for former President Donald Trump.

In a post Monday, Claudia responded to a tweet from Call to Activism, a political activism account that supports Democratic causes. The tweet shared a photo of a couple wearing shirts reading “Educated Man/Woman for Trump.”

Her response was simple and to the point: “Delusion.”

Her mom, Kellyanne Conway, a former pollster, rose to prominence as the manager of Trump’s successful 2016 presidential campaign and then moved into a role as a senior advisor in the Trump administration. She gained a reputation as a Trump media surrogate, defending his many claims on numerous news outlets, where her comment about the “bowling green massacre”  (that never happened) made her infamous for her “alternative facts.”

Claudia Conway has fortunately gone a different way, seeming to take some of her cues from her father, George, who co-founded the Lincoln Project, and she emerged in 2020 as one of Trump’s more vocal critics even as her mom worked for him. This has led to a tumultuous relationship with her mom, and she’s still as critical of Trump as ever. Some of her most pointed criticism has been directed at the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

And that’s where Claudia, 20, and her father differ. George is still firmly anti-abortion. But the two definitely share a common dislike of Trump. I don’t think that will ever change.

Earlier this month, Claudia, used the July 4 holiday to drive home her point about Roe v. Wade, re-sharing a clip of herself talking to reporters in June 2022 right after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. In the clip, she encourages people not to “buy into July 4th propaganda.” She added she wasn’t celebrating the holiday because “we’re not free.”

Considering the volcanic relationship her parents had during the Trump years, Claudia seems to have come out of it fine. You’d think her parents’ conservatism would have rubbed off on her.

Obviously, that’s not the case. While her mom has remained ever faithful to the former president and her father, despite his better points, is still largely conservative, this kid is a firebrand.

I’m glad she’s able to think for herself.
