“Put to rest.”

Take that outside of the context of prosecutions or political speech, what does it mean?

With respect to a pet, it means to put to sleep out of love. Euthanizing an animal is a gift we give them to end suffering that they don’t understand. And yes, it is done out of love, no matter how excruciating the pain of the Rainbow Bridge may be.

In other contexts, with respect to people, “put to rest” is often a phrase used when people of a religious nature mean that God “took them home.” Someone with cancer has been “put to rest” by God.

And yet, on the Fourth of July, in neither of those loving contexts, but slyly inserted into his own stochastic terrorist messages, Trump called for Jack Smith to be “put to rest,” though – of course, he softened it for deniability, right after defunded. We won’t be fooled:

Don’t tell us that the “put to rest” is meant to apply to the case after DOJ is “defunded,” he could’ve said that. Trump made it all too clear what he wanted tonight. He wants Jack Smith both defunded and “put to rest.”

We know what he means.

And now Trump has posted about the need for Jack Smith to be ”put out to rest”. We all know what that means. He’s trying to get one of his crazy supporters to kill Mr. Smith.
