Trump is hauling in money through his campaign super PACs and that helps with his ever-increasing legal problems, but what about Melania?

I mean, we found out when Melania was First Lady, she didn’t particularly care for Christmas or for doing the holiday decorating thing, Uproxx reminds us. Also, first ladies don’t receive government salaries, and while that may seem outmoded, it’s worth remembering that they don’t occupy elected positions. But, overall, they take in some pretty big bucks after the fact writing memoirs and appearing at speaking engagements.

Melania, however, is earning money in a rather novel way.

The New York Times’s Maggie Haberman has been perusing Trump’s newest federal findings, and she reports that Melania is enjoying the “rare” benefit of being paid as “the spouse of a potential presidential candidate to be paid directly by a campaign or an outside group affiliated with the candidate.”

And according to Uproxx, over the past few years, Melania has been “getting paid for picking flowers and tableware and handsomely so.”

“A representative for the super PAC, who declined to be identified by name, said that Ms. Trump had been hired through her agency for ‘design consulting’ for the old super PAC’s dinner and that her responsibilities included choosing tableware, arranging settings and picking floral arrangements,” Haberman and Shane Goldmacher write. “The fee was $125,000, and the second $30,000 payment was for additional services rendered out of the scope of the first contract, the representative said.”

That’s definitely not chicken feed. Wouldn’t you like to be paid $125,000 for picking flowers? I know I would. Choosing and arranging table settings? Where do I sign up for this job?

But that’s not the only way that Melania’s hauling in the dough.

She’s also receiving a whopping $250,000 from multiple Super PACs for giving speeches at Republican shindigs. No wonder she’s still hitched to the Trump train. And she’s managing to do this while at the same time avoiding her husband.

I’ve got to hand it to her, she definitely has some tricks up her Gucci sleeve. She’s mastered the art of grift.
