People Disgusted After Karen Pence Says She Was Never Afraid During Jan 6 Riot, Despite Calls to Hang Her Husband
Nerves of steel, apparently.
In a recent sit-down interview with ABC News, former Second Lady Karen Pence told the media giant that she never feared for her life during the insurrection on January 6, 2021.
Mrs. Pence was, of course, AT the Capitol with her husband, who was there to certify the election results from November. And her statement is rather surprising, given that there were explicit death threats against the former Vice President.
But in fact, despite the fears of lawmakers and aides, who had to scramble for cover, Mrs. Pence said she felt “peace.”
I just was discussing this with someone here in Iowa a few minutes ago, I never felt afraid. I really felt like we just had such a peace and God’s presence. And just a sense of purpose and determination that I don’t think any of us in the whole group – all the staff and everyone with us — I don’t think any of us felt fear. I think we felt like a sense of resolve.
Mrs. Pence famously — as documented by the VP’s photographer — simply drew the curtains closed.

In a cynical, small way, however, her lack of fear is understandable. One might find themselves relaxed into a sense of security most will never feel — if they’re constantly surrounded by armed men protecting them 24 hours a day.
Every time we traveled, they would have bulletproof glass in every hotel room. So it’s a conditioning thing that I just knew. Whenever you’re in a situation where someone might be able to shoot through the window, just close the drapes. That was my thinking at the time was like, ‘Wait a minute. Things are starting to happen out there. Let’s close the drapes.’
As for Mike Pence himself, as he runs for President this time around, he regrets nothing, it seems. “I know I did the right thing,” he told CBN in an interview later that year. The family did stay at the Capitol until the next day, where Pence did eventually certify the election for Joe Biden.
Pence doesn’t necessarily stand a chance against Trump in the primaries, should Trump somehow avoid going to jail before long. But it sure would be something to watch them debate each other if it comes to that.

People are absolutely disgusted with her comments:
“A lot of times we just run away from stuff with the Secret Service for fun.”

She’s not telling the truth. Pathetic couple, both spineless.

Well, Mother, we all saw you on TV running down a back staircase to get away. If you weren't feeling anything but peace, WHY rush away down that back staircase then.
