Whenever Donald Trump is feeling down, or cornered, or scared, he hits Truth Social and posts crazy articles, posts and videos that put him in a good light. And obviously he’s scared about something, because the video he just posted is truly insane. Insane in that only a true malignant narcissist would ever actually post something like this. And insane in that it is simply full of lies.

The video is called “Remember the Man” and starts with the narrator saying, “Remember the man who shaped the skyline of America”. Huh? The man built a few buildings in NYC, and a few hotels in Chicago, Florida and Las Vegas, but none of them “shaped the skyline” of America. If everything, he just added some tackiness to country with his bright gold TRUMP emblazoned on everything he built.

The narrator goes on, “Remember the man who left a good life to ignite a movement, who molded America, empowered the people, and refined our history?”

Literally WTF is this propaganda. How about “Remember the man who viciously divided the country between MAGA cultists and the rest of sane America, who told over 15,000 lies during his presidency, who put his daughter in a top role where she accomplished exactly nothing and allowed his son-in-law to make $2 BILLION dollars from the Saudis?” There, that’s better.

Then it went on, “Remember the man who made good on a promise and moved the embassy and gave the Middle East peace?” Last I checked there wasn’t peace in the Middle East. Israel and Palestine are still enemies, and besides, wasn’t that one of Jared Kushner’s jobs?

Then it said, “Remember the man who dominated the world stage” and showed a video of the time time Trump pushed away the Prime Minister of Montenegro. This is a real video that Trump is obviously proud of because he posted it TWICE.

The narrator then gets louder and speaks faster and just lists lie after lie after lie. This is exactly what you’d expect to see out of Kim Jong un. Or a cult leader.

Look, we have known for years that the MAGA Trump Supporters are basically in a cult. The definition of cult is a system of religious veneration and devotion directed toward a particular figure or object. And tell me that doesn’t describe MAGA to a T. We have seen cults come and go, shattering lives and leaving devastation behind. Jim Jones, Marshall Applewhite, David Koresh, Charles Manson, Keith Raniere, Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh — each had an almost supernatural hold on their followers and led them to tragedy.

Some political leaders have developed cults, too, and assumed totalitarian power. They include Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong and Kim Il Sung.

Now, the United States has one as well. As pointed out by Politico, Donald Trump’s base follows him with such devotion that “even his critics believe it may be fatal to annoy them.”
