School Board Member Blames ‘Holy Spirit’ for Making Her Share a Nazi Meme

A school trustee in Canada expressed concern about “brainwashing” even though she’s obviously been brainwashed herself. The trustee, who did this, Monique LaGrange, said “the Holy Spirit” told her to post a meme comparing the LGBTQ+ community to Nazis.

Seems to me like the “Holy Spirit” usually tells people like LaGrange to say, do, and share cruel sentiments. It would be nice if the “Holy Spirit” would start practicing a little kindness.

But, as LGBTQNation and CTVNews Edmonton report, on August 27, LaGrange, who’s a member of the board of Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools in Alberta, Canada, posted a meme on social media that shows a black-and-white photo of school children waving Nazi flags above a color photo of kids in a classroom waving Progress Pride flags. The words “Brainwashing is brainwashing” appeared right above the images.

Naturally, people in the LGBTQ+ community are upset. Who can blame them? And as a result, the community accompanied by the Alberta Teachers’ Association is calling for LaGrange to resign or be removed from the board. Near the end of September, the board found that LaGrange’s disturbing post violated the RDCRS Trustee Code of Conduct and Alberta’s Education Act. She is stubbornly still on the board, but she has been banned from being on committees and attending board meetings.

LaGrange has been ordered to write a sincere apology letter. She also has to complete sensitivity training about the Holocaust and LGBTQ+ discrimination and won’t be allowed to represent the board in any official capacity until she does so.

The board has been kinder than I would be. I think when someone posts something this obnoxious, something that can hurt innocent people for no good reason, that person should be fired. LaGrange shouldn’t be allowed to teach, especially since she’s apparently being defiant about this.

Her lawyer, James Kitchen said earlier this month that she refuses to apologize, arguing that “she didn’t do anything wrong.”

No, she just further alienated two communities that are continually victimized by hate, often by so-called “Christians” who, like LaGrange are also victims of brainwashing.

Tuesday, the RDCRS board released a 15-page decision regarding LaGrange that included her argument that the meme she posted to social media was “not about the LGBTQ community.” The decision notes that LaGrange argued the meme “is about the indoctrination through the United Nations which directly correlates to World War II and Nazism; it is about the agenda of the United Nations and Planned Parenthood which is an attempt to sabotage our youths’ identities and destinies and hijacks the LGBTQ community’s original mandate.”

I don’t get her comment about Planned Parenthood, but I do understand she’s anti-abortion and anti-LGBTQ+, and who knows, maybe anti-Semitic as well.

The board disagreed and stated that LaGrange’s post “is not, on a reasonably objective standard, dignified nor professional, [and the board] does not accept the trustee’s submission that the meme was clearly unrelated to Nazism.”

“Regardless of the trustee’s intent, in the board’s view, a reasonable person viewing two photographs (one over the other) could reasonably conclude that a negative comparison was being made,” the decision reads.

But LaGrange remains undeterred and insists “the post is not about the LGBTQ [sic] community,” and that the discipline process was “tainted by procedural unfairness and bias,” according to the document.

“The meme post is about indoctrination through the United Nations which directly correlates to World War II and Nazism; it is about the agenda of the United Nations and Planned Parenthood which is an attempt to sabotage our youths’ identities and destinies and hijacks the LGBTQ [sic] community’s original mandate,” the document says regarding her argument.

“The Pride flag is used to silence people; children are being kicked out of school and people are being fired which is antithetical to the trustee’s religious beliefs; and that ‘cancel culture’ is not what is good, lawful, appropriate or democratic.”

“The trustee was clear that her beliefs informed her views: she stated the Holy Spirit had told her to post the meme and that this was something she should do,” the board stated in the decision.

But according to her lawyers, LaGrange is all mom and apple pie and loves her Jaysus.

“She’s just a normal Bible-believing Christian, who when she’s considering something prays about it, which is what Paul says you should do in the New Testament, and then she received the affirmation she was seeking, so she did it,” Kitchen told CTV News regarding his client’s decision to post the meme.

Kitchen added that LaGrange is (read: ignorant) in refusing to apologize and that she is unlikely to take part in the required sensitivity training (I guess she’s against being a decent person), and he described it as “re-education, Maoist-struggle-session-type thing where her mind is changed” and her “brain is washed.” Kitchen said LaGrange intends to seek a judicial review of the board’s decision.

Because LaGrange is such an ardent, unforgiving Christian, it’s very apparent her brain has already been “washed.” Quite likely when she was very young.

It would be nice if the “Holy Spirit” would tell these people to keep their traps shut. That never seems to happen. And as far as “brainwashing,” I think I need some “brain bleach” after laboring over this nonsense that does nothing but hurt people who don’t deserve it.
