Fox’s Jason Chaffetz Blames Biden for Fox News’ Horribly Irresponsible Reporting on Border Crash

If at first you don’t succeed, then blame Biden! At least that seems to be the mantra at Fox News, who humiliated themselves today when they refused to WAIT for officials to determine the cause of a car explosion near the Rainbow Bridge border crossing between the U.S. and Canada.

Fox News host Jason Chaffetz claimed that the crash emphasized the necessity for enhanced border security, turning the incident into an opportunity to take a shot at Joe Biden.

Prior to Chaffetz making those comments, CNN identified the deceased as a 56-year-old man and his wife, labeling the incident a “terrible accident.” It turns out the couple missed a concert of the rock band Kiss, and decided to go to a casino instead. Obviously they were driving way too fast, and that’s all we know right now. Earlier in the day, Fox News reported that the crash was the result of an “attempted terror attack” that used a “car full of explosives.” The network later retracted the story.

While guest hosting Wednesday’s segment of The Ingraham Angle, Chaffetz used the unfortunate event to attack the Biden administration’s border policies.

“Today’s explosion at the border – regardless of the motive behind it – is a chilling reminder that we’re all on high alert and living in a post-9/11 mindset, which means that our borders need to be secure,” he said. “We shouldn’t be living in fear. But that’s what the cluelessness in D.C. is forcing us to do. It’s having dire consequences on the safety of our nation and the psyche of the average American.”

During his discussion, the on-screen headline read, “Rainbow Bridge Explosion: A Cautionary Signal for America.”

Chaffetz, who was once a member of the U.S. House of Representatives but quit because it didn’t pay enough, went on to slam the Biden administration for not shutting down the border.

“But at the bare minimum, wouldn’t we need to know who’s crossing into our country?” he went on. “Why are they here? Where are they going? What are they doing? These are not difficult questions if you have the political will to actually ask them? But, unfortunately, the leaders of today, including [Homeland Security] Secretary [Alejandro] Mayorkas, they aren’t willing to do it because they don’t have the political will to actually shut down the border. So, we don’t know exactly what happened at the explosion by Niagara Falls, and we need to know sooner rather than later.”
