Alina ‘I’d Rather Be Pretty Than Smart’ Habba May Be Referred to Bar Association for Disciplinary Action by Judge Kaplan

Donald Trump’s attorney Alina Habba may find herself in more trouble than she bargained for. And she deserves it. Judge Lewis Kaplan may refer her to the Bar Association for discipline because she violated the judge’s orders in Trump’s defamation case, according to a legal analyst. Friday was the last day of the E. Jean Carroll defamation trial against the former president in New York City. He was ordered to pay Carroll a whopping $83.3 million. The former columnist for Elle was awarded $5 million last May after a jury found Trump sexually assaulted her in a New York City department store dressing room during the mid-1990s, Newsweek reports.

But Trump, who continually maintained his innocence in both trials and is still denying the sexual assault allegations is claiming the case is politically motivated. He’s also claiming this regarding the four criminal indictments and another civil case he’s facing. As the Republican front-runner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, he’s again playing the “Oh poor me” game as he always does.

Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

During the trial wore on, Kaplan, who is presiding over the case, instructed Trump and his lawyers not to repeat the claims that he didn’t sexually assault Carroll. Trump ignored the judge’s orders and testified on the witness stand Thursday that Carroll’s accusations were “false.” In her closing arguments on Friday, Habba said the reason Trump continues to deny the sexual assault allegations is because it was “the truth” and asserted that Carroll’s story had “more holes than Swiss cheese.”

Kaplan objected to both of Habba’s remarks, warning her that if she violated his orders again, there would “be consequences.”

Erica Orden, Politico’s legal reporter dropped a snippet of Habba’s closing argument on X, Friday.

“Ladies and gentlemen, imagine you’re living your life. You have a beautiful family, a wife, kids. And you have a very serious job to do. You work long days and long nights. And all of a sudden, you are hit with an allegation. There are no facts โ€””

Respected former U.S. attorney Joyce Vance, who served during the Obama administration, replied to Orden’s post, noting: “Habba violates a clear order from the Judge. She can take it up with the court of appeals if she thinks it’s wrong, but she doesn’t get to ignore it. She lacks respect for the rule of law, just like her client.”

“It would not be surprising to see the judge refer Habba to the Bar Association for disciplinary action, given her multiple violations of this order after being warned repeatedly,” Vance added in a follow-up post.”

I hope Judge Kaplan does refer her to the Bar for reprimanding. She was obnoxious all throughout the trial and frankly, I really think she’s not a very good attorney. The judge was more than patient with her and she rewarded that by disrespecting his orders and sassing him. She painted her client as being treated unfairly when that clearly isn’t true.

Donald Trump is a failed con man who has failed at everything he’s tried. Including being president.
