Fox News Knuckleheads Say Trump Was Treated Worse Than O.J. Simpson in New York Civil Trial

Yep, you read that right.

By now you already have the number memorized: $354 million.

That’s how much Donald Trump was ordered by Judge Arthur Engoron in the civil fraud trial that just wrapped up in New York. And it wasn’t just him — his two sons Eric and Don Jr. were ordered to pay $4 million each as well.

On top of all that, Trump was banned from running any kind of business in the state of New York for 3 full years following the ruling.

As you can imagine, the talking heads at Fox News were beside themselves. Longtime anchor Martha MacCallum was speaking to Fox News Sunday host Shannon Bream and her guest, 2-1/2 year press secretary Ari Fleischer, when she expressed her outrage.

“When you think about 91 indictments against this individual, Shannon, just looking at other civil cases which have a monetary price tag on them. As I said, this is not a criminal case here.

“I looked back. O.J. Simpson was found civilly liable in the deaths of two people, his wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend, who was at the property at the time. $33 million. In the deaths of two human beings in one of the most high-profile cases in American history. What do you think about that?”

Bream concurred, underlining the same thing that Trump has been trying to say the entire time — that there were essentially no “victims” in the case against him.

“Everyone got paid back,” said Bream. “So regardless of how you feel about the outcome, when the former president and his supporters have this argument that it’s political, it looks that way.”

The conservative nitwits did see the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel, however. They posited that this could actually help Trump in the long term, if only he’s elected president again.

“If Donald Trump wins re-election, he will be able to tell his attorney general to drop all of those federal charges,” said Fleischer. “How will that decision get made? If the American people elect Donald Trump, that’s what will happen. If they elect Biden, those will continue.”

The scary part is, Ari’s probably right. If the people elect Donald Trump again, it’s all over for American democracy and the justice system. I don’t think that’s exactly how he’d phrase it, though.
