Lauren Boebert Humiliated in Her New Non-MAGA District as Its Residents Want NOTHING to Do With Her

Talk about rude awakenings. Wow. Colorado voters in Rep. Lauren Boebert’s new district have just doused her with some ice-cold water. In the form of a poll from Kaplan Strategies, which shared that poll with Newsweek. It was definitely not good news for Beetlejuice Boebert.

The poll found that nearly half (46 percent) of likely GOP voters in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District say they wouldn’t vote for a candidate who just moved to the district. Another 22 percent said they would vote yes, while 33 percent said they weren’t sure.

So this is definitely NOT good news for Boebert. People are hesitant to vote for a Republican who just jumped into their district. Especially since they know she switched to the strictly red district near the end of last year after facing a harrowing re-election where she didn’t fare well in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District, which she currently represents. Boebert won reelection by a hair-thin margin in 2022 — by a mere 546 votes after an incredibly strong challenge from Democrat Adam Frisch. After the midterms, the district has moved from Republican-leaning to a mix-up. The seat Boebert is trying to obtain in the 4th district is being vacated by Rep. Ken Buck, who cited the unwillingness of some in his party to accept the 2020 election as his reason for retiring.

But even so, we’re not out of the mud yet. The recent poll is troublesome for Boebert, but Doug Kaplan Strategies told Newsweek it might not keep enough people from voting for her. Because the survey also found that Boebert is well ahead of the pack with 32 percent of the Republican vote. Her GOP challengers are still in single digits. Her closest competition is Colorado State Rep. Mike Lynch, with 7 percent support.

Although the recent poll is a troubling sign for Boebert, Doug Kaplan, president of Kaplan Strategies, told Newsweek it may not hold enough people back from voting for her. The survey found Boebert far ahead of the pack with 32 percent of the Republican vote, while her GOP challengers all sat in single digits. Colorado State Representative Mike Lynch is her closest competitor, with 7 percent support.

“Unless the party coalescences around one person, she will win,” Kaplan explained.

The issue that could hamper Boebert’s campaign is her disapproval rating, he said. The survey showed that more than 4 in 10 GOP voters said they held an unfavorable view of Boebert, whereas 38 percent had a favorable view. Another 45 percent of voters said she does not have good character or judgment.

That may be the understatement of the year.

“I have not seen [a] poll where the leading candidate has such unfavorables,” Kaplan said.

I’m guessing many of these voters were not thrilled with her very public display during the Beetlejuice musical at a theater in Denver, where she did things like vape in front of a pregnant woman, and play grope and hope with her date last September. I’m pretty sure this has come back to haunt her with the voters in this strictly conservative district. As it stands, nearly half of the voters in this district remain undecided, but it’s really not clear if Boebert will be able to persuade these Republicans to vote for her. Of those who chose another candidate or said they remained undecided, 67 percent said they were not considering voting for Boebert. But only 33 percent said they planned to vote for her.

There’s an interesting contrast here. The 4th district is deeply red, but a sizable percentage of voters here distrust MAGA Republicans, and Boebert, of course, falls in that category. Voters of this district voted for former President Donald Trump by nearly 20 percentage points, which is more than double the margin in her old district, where 55 percent of voters in the survey said they did not consider themselves MAGA Republicans.

“It’s less of a MAGA district,” Kaplan explained, noting that pollsters usually see a 10 percentage point MAGA advantage, even in the primaries. But in the 4th District, only 45 percent of respondents considered themselves “MAGA Republicans.”

Even so, 66 percent of voters surveyed said they would vote for Trump in the Republican presidential primary, while 45 percent said they would be more likely to support Boebert if the ex-president endorsed her.

Newsweek reports that the poll was conducted on February 24 and 558 registered likely voters in the 4th Congressional District were surveyed. The poll has a margin of error of +/-4.2 percent.

All of which means I don’t know what will happen here. Boebert’s extremist anti-LGBTQ+ and racist stances, plus her behavior in public should work against her but I really don’t know what will happen here. I’m hoping for the sake of rational people in the 4th District that she goes back to clown school where she belongs.
