Trump Is Going to be FURIOUS at Lauren Boebert After Uncovered Video Shows Her Praising President Obama

A clip from a decade ago has come back to haunt Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert (R). This is because she is seen expressing her fealty to then-President Barack Obama, referring to him as “my president,” and saying she “would never do anything to disrespect” the president. That, of course, leads me to ask:

What the hell has happened to her since then?

As you might expect, the video has rapidly gone viral on social media, according to Newsweek.

Now she’s a rabidly outspoken GOPer who represents Colorado’s Third Congressional District. She notoriously heckled current President Joe Biden when he was delivering his 2022 State of the Union address. And she faced well-deserved criticism for expressing the hope that Biden’s “days be few” at a church event in 2023.

But in a clip that aired on CNN in 2014, Boebert expressed entirely different views about the White House. This was, of course, years before she entered politics. At the time, Boebert appeared in a remote interview with former CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin about her now-shuttered Colorado restaurant Shooters Grill. The story grabbed headlines over its wait staff open-carrying pistols on their hips at work.

The eatery was located in Rifle, Colorado but it closed in the summer of 2022. Boebert claimed the restaurant was closing because the landlord decided not to renew their lease. She claimed the decision wasn’t political.

As the interview proceeded, Baldwin asked Boebert specific questions about the restaurant’s decor, including a copy of the Declaration of Independence hanging on a wall and a copy of the Bill of Rights. There was also a sign inside that read “proudly clinging to my guns and Bible.”

While discussing the sign, Baldwin asked if it was in response to comments Obama made in 2008 as a presidential hopeful. She shared a brief audio clip of Obama speaking on the campaign trail: “And it’s not surprising then they get bitter. They cling to guns or religion or antipathy, to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”

Baldwin told Boebert that Obama was “caught off-mic talking about people in rural areas clinging to their guns and religion.”

“I have to ask: Is the sign in your restaurant a direct jab at Obama?” Baldwin wondered.

“No,” Boebert replied. “I would never do anything to disrespect my president. I believe it is an office that is in place by God and I would never say anything to disrespect him. I didn’t know that that comment was even made. I actually just picked up the sign at a local store.”

Then she rethought that.

“No, I stand corrected,” Boebert added, appearing to glance at the sign in question. “A friend of mine bought that for me, and I thought it was fitting.”

The political commentary account PatriotTakes shared the clip on X, and so far it has been viewed more than 368,000 times.

Colorado, an open-carry state with few exceptions, has no specific laws about the right to openly carry a firearm according to the Colorado Legal Defense Group. And the right to possess a gun is generally protected under Article 2, Section 3 of the state’s constitution.

Boebert added that all of the staff at Shooters Grill had their safeties on their firearms during work.

“I mean, guns nowadays or firearms are manufactured great,” Boebert said. “The holsters, they cover your trigger. You know, there are no accidents that are going to happen. I mean, there’s no such thing these days. We do keep them [in] holsters and [there is] no reason a waitress is ever allowed to unholster. If something did happen, we are not anticipating an attack. We do not expect it.”

And of course, now, Boebert is on X posting all sorts of right-wing ridiculousness. What happened to this woman? Was she just shining Baldwin on? If not, she’s made a 360-degree turn since then. And it’s not a good look. Here’s some of her recent tweets from the past couple of days.

That’s Boebert in a nutshell: Lots of hate directed at immigrants and kooky commentary. And folks had all kinds of thoughts about her 2014 CNN interview. Some were as dumbfounded as I am. Did she get a bump on her head? Why such a huge shift over a decade? Does she just do things for attention?
