Man, it must really suck to be Donald Trump right now. And nothing could make me happier because he deserves every little bit of pain coming his way. And on Friday, you could tell Trump was worried about his upcoming immunity case, because he went on another wild rant about presidential immunity as his legal issues continue to snowball.

On Friday, the adjudicated rapist took to his Truth Social account and sent five separate posts, all with very similar messages, on why he believes he should have immunity from criminal charges and basically be able to do whatever he damn well pleases.

Trump started with an ALL-CAPS screaming post and said, “IF IMMUNITY IS NOT GRANTED TO A PRESIDENT, EVERY PRESIDENT THAT LEAVES OFFICE WILL BE IMMEDIATELY INDICTED BY THE OPPOSING PARTY. WITHOUT COMPLETE IMMUNITY, A PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO PROPERLY FUNCTION!”

Then he went on another rant, saying that former presidents Obama and Bush, and eventually Biden would be in big trouble.

Trump wrote, “If a President does not have Immunity, the Opposing Party, during his/her term in Office, can extort and blackmail the President by saying that, “if you don’t give us everything we want, we will Indict you for things you did while in Office,” even if everything done was totally Legal and Appropriate. That would be the end of the Presidency, and our Country, as we know it, and is just one of the many Traps there would be for a President without Presidential Immunity. Obama, Bush, and soon, Crooked Joe Biden, would all be in BIG TROUBLE. If a President doesn’t have IMMUNITY, he/she will be nothing more than a “Ceremonial” President, rarely having the courage to do what has to be done for our Country. This is not what the Founders had in mind! Protect Presidential Immunity. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Then Trump acted like he knows what the founding fathers would have wanted. Trump probably doesn’t even know who the founding fathers are. He said, “Without Presidential Immunity, the Presidency will lose its power and prestige, and under some Leaders, have no power at all. The Presidency will be consumed by the other Branches of Government. THAT IS NOT WHAT OUR FOUNDERS WANTED!”

Then more craziness, “IF THEY TAKE AWAY MY PRESIDENTIAL IMMUNITY, THEY TAKE AWAY CROOKED JOE BIDEN’S PRESIDENTIAL IMMUNITY.”

Then Trump wrapped up his scream fest with, “WITHOUT PRESIDENTIAL IMMUNITY, IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR A PRESIDENT TO PROPERLY FUNCTION, PUTTING THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IN GREAT AND EVERLASTING DANGER!”

Of course everything Trump says is idiotic and wrong. He’s scared and desperate, and hopes that if he says it, it will come true. But alas, life doesn’t work that way. According to Constitution Annotated, it’s been ruled that presidential immunity does not refer to criminal charges.

“For example, in United States v. Nixon, the Court held that President Richard Nixon was amenable to a subpoena to produce evidence for use in a federal criminal case,” an excerpt read, detailing that Nixon also argued he had immunity. “The Supreme Court unanimously disagreed, holding that neither the doctrine of separation of powers, nor the need for confidentiality of high-level communications, without more, can sustain an absolute, unqualified Presidential privilege of immunity from judicial process under all circumstances.”
