Trump Claims He ‘Just Found’ Evidence Clearing Him in Stormy Daniels Case — But There’s a Huge Glaring Problem

There is frequently a clear division between what Donald Trump believes is the truth and what actually is the truth. That’s evident here because he says there is “just found” evidence in his case involving Stormy Daniels. If you sense there’s a “but” coming it’s because there is. Of course, this is Donald Trump, after all, so we’re all used to his b.s.

The former president was in his usual bombastic mood and on Wednesday trumpeted on TruthSocial, LOOK WHAT WAS JUST FOUND! WILL THE FAKE NEWS REPORT IT?” He accompanied that with a statement from Daniels that was dated January 30, 2018.

The letter read as follows:

“Over the past few weeks I have been asked countless times to comment on reports of an alleged sexual relationship I had with Donald Trump many, many, many years ago,” the statement from Daniels says. “I am not denying this affair because I was paid ‘hush money’ as has been reported in overseas owned tabloids. I am denying this affair because it never happened.”

Last April, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg indicted Trump, accusing him of paying hush money to Daniels and alleging that the ex-president “repeatedly and fraudulently falsified New York business records to conceal crimes that hid damaging information from the voting public during the 2016 presidential election.”

Trump continues to deny any wrongdoing in the case, which is scheduled to start Monday.

And this is where the “but” comes in. Sure, his post seems to suggest that this recently unearthed evidence is new, according to a report from the Associated Press (AP) last month, Daniels’s statement was originally released six years ago, and she later recanted the remarks.

“She said her denials were due to a non-disclosure agreement and that she signed the statement because parties involved ‘made it sound like I had no choice,'” per the AP.

And remember, Daniels was being threatened by someone in Trump’s camp and she was terrified. Someone even threatened her and her infant daughter as detailed in this interview with Anderson Cooper.

Trump, of course, still denies the allegations leveled by Bragg and has previously said he will testify in the trial

“I would have no problem testifying,” he said. “I didn’t do anything wrong.”

Yeah, right.

Trump was originally placed under a gag order by New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan. This being Trump, he disobeyed the gag order and attacked Merchan’s daughter and her connection to the Democratic Party. But earlier in the week, Trump lost a legal battle as part of his attempts to delay the trial. His latest attempt centered around challenges to the gag order. However, a New York appeals court denied his attempts Tuesday.

Talking to Fox News’ Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade, Trump’s middle son, Eric Trump, who is not known for his intellectual abilities, spoke about his father’s criminal trial:

“Every single time he walks into that courtroom, millions and millions of dollars flow in because the American people know exactly what’s happening to him.”

We sure do. And we’re cheering the judge and the jury on. Oh, yes we are.
