Trump Is So Furious at His Lawyer That He’s Refusing to Pay His Bills — And His Reasons for Being Angry Are Hysterical

Yeah, this tracks.

There’s not a single reporter who knows more about — or has written more about — Donald Trump than the New York Times‘ Maggie Haberman. She’s covered him in good ways and bad ways and just all the ways.

So when she says that “sources” say that Trump is privately angry at his lawyer Todd Blanche, I’m inclined to believe her.

In fact, when she says Trump is stiffing Blanche on his legal bills, I believe that too.

Trump hates Maggie, too. But she is one of the only ones in his scope of view that hasn’t earned a derogatory nickname. It sort of feels like Trump has met his match in her.

It doesn’t help that she has seemingly unlimited sources inside his sphere. In her latest report with fellow Trumpworld veteran Jonathan Swan, she tells us that no fewer than FOUR sources have confirmed how mad he is at Blanche:

“Although Mr. Blanche has been Mr. Trump’s favorite lawyer for some time, behind closed doors and in phone calls, the former president has complained repeatedly about him in recent weeks, according to four people familiar with the situation.

He has griped that Mr. Blanche, a former federal prosecutor and veteran litigator, has not been following his instructions closely, and has been insufficiently aggressive. Mr. Trump wants him to attack witnesses, attack what the former president sees as a hostile jury pool, and attack the judge, Juan M. Merchan.

Mr. Trump, who often complains about legal fees and sometimes refuses to pay them, has also wondered aloud why his lawyers cost so much, according to the people, who all spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the sensitive topic.”

It’s actually ironic that Trump, who is famously hostile toward all the people that he wishes Blanche would “attack,” when he won’t even tell Blanche about how he feels directly to his face. Also, Trump is angry that Blanche “won’t follow his instructions”. You hire an attorney for their knowledge, not for them to be yes men. Plus, listening to Trump would only cause MORE problems for the adjudicated rapist. And Blanche also has a reputation to protect and doesn’t want to lose the case, because his narcissistic client thinks he knows the law better than a top lawyer with 25 years of experience.

Trump should be thankful that he has at least ONE lawyer who’s not a big, bombastic personality who’s literally trying to help him get away with crimes. I mean, he is trying to help Trump, but in a way that is out of the ordinary for someone who would be an attorney for Trump.

Even the soft-pedaling that Blanche has done nearly lost him “all credibility,” Judge Juan Merchan said at a recent contempt trial. But Trump wants more aggression.

It’s clear that the former president is losing his grip, and we have nothing to do but sit back and watch. And then vote in November.
