Trump Wanted Another Host for Celebrity Apprentice and His Choice Sadly Won’t Surprise You

In a somewhat weird development – indeed, one that is rather hard to believe until the circumstances are explained – Donald Trump argued that someone should replace him as host of the hit show The Apprentice.

By 2015, Trump had decided to run for president, the only problem being that he had a hit television show that he had to keep going. He would need another host, one just as appealing – ideally at least.

Trump had an inspired idea, one that – and this hurts to say – might have been absolutely brilliant. According to Variety Magazine, Trump stated, “I said, ‘The best person to hire would be Ivanka Trump. I didn’t press it. But I felt Ivanka would have been by far the best person you could hire.”

It actually does make some sense. A beautiful but tough blonde who, in the show at least, was all business, firing people and breaking their hearts (something that likely came quite naturally to her growing up).

From Variety’s report:

The somewhat shocking Variety co-editor-in-chief Ramin Setoodeh. The book peels back the curtain on how Trump’s decade playing an all-knowing mogul on TV shaped his image as a politician, ultimately catapulting him to the White House.

The book, Apprentice in Wonderland, takes advantage of what the publishers claim to be “unprecedented access” (though many books could make the same claim, and no one could prove anything). The information came from what is described as “hours of interviews” during 2021 – after Trump moved back to Mar-a-Lago.

But the biggest revelation, by far, is one that actually makes some sense. Ivanka might have been the perfect new host. Of course, she may have had no interest in hosting the show and the book may have left that portion out.

None of it ever really mattered anyway. NBC cut ties with the Trumps (en masse) after his infamous comments about Mexican immigrants. we’ll likely never know whether Ivanka would have taken the role or whether she would have excelled.

But it sounds like a decent idea.
