Sweaty Trump Slurs His Words Again While Struggling to Get Through Latest Speech: Exhausted, Medicated, Other?

If there is one thing we’ve learned during the Trump presidency and then through the Biden term, it is that – if a President speaks enough – and they all do, one can gather enough video – most of the time, just one speech and pick out words and sentences that are slurred out.

Given that the Right has had a fascination with calling “Sleepy Joe” addled or demented, it is only fair to point out those many occasions when Donald Trump sounds just as bad, if not worse. There is also the lingering fact that Alzheimer’s runs in his family, and people do look for signs that he is slipping.

Trump’s latest gaffe came while struggling to say “infrastructure,” which is ironic, to say the least. He is likely having trouble saying “infrastructure” because he would promise, week after week, to get an infrastructure bill passed into law, one the country desperately needed and had bipartisan support.

It never happened. “Infrastructure Week”  came and went, over and over, never to be addressed – never mind passed through Congress. It took Joe Biden’s steady hand to get the “Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill” passed. It had Republican votes.

So the whole infrastructure thing makes this gaffe funnier, even though one can find video of even a young, vigorous president spouting nonsense. (George W. Bush was in great shape and was a gaffe machine, “Fool me once… “). But people watch Joe Biden closely for even the slightest gaffe from a lifelong stutterer, and so it’s worth noting when Trump bungles a word as badly as below:

Ok Magazine found some older examples worth reading and worth remembering:

As OK! previously reported, in April, the ex-president gave a bizarre speech at Mar-a-Lago when he attempted to mock New York Attorney General Letitia James, going on to call her the wrong name. “They put him into the state of New York and then ultimately into the D.A.’s office to run the case. This is being run by [President Joe] Biden,” he began.

“They put a man into the state … Letitia Jones. Peekaboo, I call her. Peekaboo. They put a man into that one, Letitia, they put a man into that one to run it and then he went into the D.A.’s office,” he continued, referring to Letitia James as “Letitia Jones.”

It is easy to find videos. This is no “Proof of Dementia” or anything of the type. But the videos of Joe Biden’s stutter and “off” moments are just as ridiculous. Both elderly men have elderly moments, and even men in their prime – if they do enough speaking – will have gaffes.

Some will even commit candor. Joe Biden is terrible at dropping president-speak and just “giving it straight” – Trump did it far too often, too – and was better sticking to his script. To each his own.

The lesson is that there is no video proving that Trump has dementia, and there is no video proving Biden has lost a step, either. Both men have the mental acuity to be president, and the only question is whether both men have stamina.
