Convicted Felon Trump Is About to Lose Some Rights — NYPD to Revoke Trump’s Concealed Carry Permit

Makes sense – now that he's a felon, he's not allowed to have it.

Donald Trump may be facing an unexpected consequence of his felony conviction.

Once he got convicted of 34 felonies in association with his falsifying of business records in order to cover up his sexual affairs, he became ineligible to even own a firearm in several states. Now CNN is reporting that the NYPD, the issuing agency for concealed carry permits, will probably revoke his.

He’s had one for ten years.

He at one point had at least three guns, but two were confiscated from him after his license was quietly suspended last year after being indicted. He succeeded in transferring the last one to Florida, where he wasn’t required to hold a license.

It didn’t hurt his cause that he officially moved from New York to Florida at the time, from Trump Tower to Mar-a-Lago.

But now that he’s a felon, CNN is reporting that the NYPD will almost assuredly open an investigation into whether he could face even more federal charges for still owning one at all.

If the investigation succeeds, the agency will likely move to revoke his federal concealed carry permit entirely. After that, Trump could request a judgement on it from a federal court, but that probably won’t get him anywhere.

Donald Trump smiles as he holds a gun with his face etched onto the handle

From the CNN report:

“After Trump was convicted of 34 felonies on May 30, 2024, he could be in violation of multiple state and federal laws if he still possesses that third gun in Florida. CNN has reached out to representatives of Trump to determine whether he still has a gun in Florida.”

They went on:

“The suspension and pending revocation of his carry license suggests that he maintained his license the entire time of his presidency and after, until he was charged with multiple felonies for falsifying business records in March 2023. As a former president, Trump has full-time US Secret Service protection.”

Meaning, what does that man need with a gun, anyway? He’s covered at all times, even in his sleep, which he did a lot of while he was in court.

Besides, I can think of VERY few people who should have a gun less than Donald Trump should.
