House Panel Votes to Release Matt Gaetz Report, and He Is In Full-On PANIC Mode – Releases Bonkers Statement

Matt, you just keep making it worse.

CNN is reporting this morning that the House Ethics Committee secretly voted earlier this month to go ahead and release their findings on the investigation they did into former Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz. It’s almost like once the possibility of him being necessary to Donald Trump passed, everyone remembered how much they hate that guy.

And so, sometime before lawmakers leave town for the holidays, the ethics report is expected to be made publicly available — possibly posted online.

The investigation lasted years, since they had a heck of a lot to cover. The Ethics Committee noted in an announcement last summer that the probe included a look into whether Gaetz had participated in sexual misconduct, used illicit drugs, and a litany of other things. Also examined: Whether he’d “shared inappropriate images or videos on the House floor, misused state identification records, converted campaign funds to personal use, and/or accepted a bribe, improper gratuity, or impermissible gifts.”

That is a mouthful.

It’s rare — but not unheard of — to see the House release a report on a member who’s no longer serving. But after the Committee voted to table the report last month while Gaetz was under consideration to be Trump’s attorney general, there was a not-insignificant public uproar.

Being as the vote to shelve the report had been entirely along party lines, that means the reversal of that decision includes some Republicans who changed their minds.

Now, bear this in mind as you read on: As of this writing the news that the report would be released is no more than an hour old. Matt Gaetz has already responded. His tweet is… something:

The Biden/Garland DOJ spent years reviewing allegations that I committed various crimes.

I was charged with nothing: FULLY EXONERATED. Not even a campaign finance violation. And the people investigating me hated me.

Then, the very “witnesses” DOJ deemed not-credible were assembled by House Ethics to repeat their claims absent any cross-examination or challenge from me or my attorneys. I’ve had no chance to ever confront any accusers. I’ve never been charged. I’ve never been sued.

Instead, House Ethics will reportedly post a report online that I have no opportunity to debate or rebut as a former member of the body.

In my single days, I often sent funds to women I dated – even some I never dated but who asked. I dated several of these women for years. I NEVER had sexual contact with someone under 18. Any claim that I have would be destroyed in court – which is why no such claim was ever made in court.

My 30’s were an era of working very hard – and playing hard too.

It’s embarrassing, though not criminal, that I probably partied, womanized, drank and smoked more than I should have earlier in life. I live a different life now.

But at least I didn’t vote for CR’s that fuck over the country!

Man, there’s a lot to unpack here.

First of all, Matt, “not charged” is way, way different than “fully exonerated.” Those two things are not even in the same universe. One of those things is from earth and the other is from wherever Nancy Mace thinks the New Jersey drones are from:

Following that logic, not being charged by the DOJ doesn’t mean the DOJ didn’t think the witnesses were credible. It just means you weren’t charged. Remember that time Robert Mueller found 12 instances of Obstruction of Justice that Donald Trump absolutely could have been charged for and then didn’t charge him because of DOJ rules?

Remember how the “Biden/Garland DOJ” isn’t putting Trump in prison right now despite all of the overwhelming evidence gathered by Jack Smith of Trump’s outright treason, all because of DOJ rules?

Not charged does not mean innocent. You know that’s why the report is coming out.

But Matt, let’s have a word about that part that starts with “In my single days,” because it’s kind of troubling. Are you saying you’re only attracted to women who like to get paid for their “friendship”? Are you saying you paid underage girls who asked you for money but who you definitely didn’t sleep with?

I don’t know, it just seems like there are a lot of questions here that could be answered pretty easily by releasing the report. You don’t need to be able to “rebut” what’s being said if none of it’s true. There’s no court charging you — we’ve already been over that. What on earth are you so worried about?

Also, Matt Gaetz is 42 years old. He was in office beginning in 2017. That means that the “era” of his 30s included 5 years in Congress. You can’t say “I was dumb in my 30s” if you spent half of your 30s making federal laws and expect people not to want to see this report more than ever before.

Political Flare will update our readers when the report is out, including, as usual, the angles that legacy media often overlooks.
