Video Shows Bill Gates Revealing a Humiliating Mistake Trump Made That Proves Just How Stupid He Is
This is the man who's taking office in a few weeks.
There’s basically a zero percent chance that Bill Gates asked Donald Trump if he could come to Mar-a-Lago for a New Year’s Eve party, as Trump bizarrely claimed in a tweet directed to Elon Musk. And there’s a very simple reason for that: Bill Gates thinks Trump is a moron.
I mean, it kind of goes without saying, since we all kind of think that Trump’s a moron. But the fact that he still thinks he can make Elon Musk feel “threatened” by his “friendship” with another billionaire is endlessly funny.
Trump has always been the kind of man who wants to be the “it” guy. He wants to be the person that others want to rub elbows with. He wants to be a kingmaker, the life of the party, the top of the who’s-who list. But claiming that he’s good pals with Bill Gates is absolutely hilarious, because we had proof that Bill thought Donnie was an idiot years ago, and it ended up getting broadcast on TV.
MSNBC host Chris Hayes dug out this clip of Gates for a show that aired some time ago, and it’s still as funny today as it was back then. In it, Bill is describing two different times that he visited with Trump — once at New York’s Trump Tower in 2016 and once at the White House in 2017 — and Trump asked him something pretty dumb.
Actually, let me dial that back a tiny bit. It’s not dumb the first time you ask it. If you’re in seventh grade. And it’s 1985.

Anyway, this was when Trump was president the first time. First, Hayes tweeted just a teaser clip, and that’s enough to show you the line that got all the laughs from the audience:

“He wanted to know if there was a difference between HIV and HPV. So I was able to explain that those are rarely confused with each other.”
I mean, one is a a sexually-transmitted infection, and the other one can be as well, so if you don’t know ANY other details about either one, I can see the confusion. But of course one is deadly and one gives you warts (or maybe cancer, still be careful, kids!).
And there’s plenty to laugh at in the sense that, because Gates has been associated with philanthropic work that focuses on curing diseases around the world and is also a billionaire, Trump thought he’s be the person to ask a question like that without worrying that someone would think he was an idiot.
Little did Trump know the story would be relayed the way it was.
But the backstory is full of other little details that are more than just funny. They’re disturbing. In the broader clip that Hayes posted after his show had aired, Gates describes having successfully avoided Trump at a “thing” they were both at during the election. The fact that Gates already knew to avoid him without having met him tells you almost everything you need to know about whether he’s begging to come to Trump’s New Year’s party.
“But then he got elected,” Bill says. Suddenly the man who was still at the time the richest person in the world was going to be forced to meet the president one way or the other. So he went to see him at Trump Tower. Trump knew (of) Bill’s daughter Jennifer, because of her equestrian background and Trump’s horse show in Florida.
“In fact, he went up and talked to Jen and was being super nice,” Gates tells the audience. “And then, like 20 minutes later, he flew in, in a helicopter, to the same place. So clearly he had been driven away, but he wanted to make a grand entrance in a helicopter.”
Okay, that tracks.
“So when I first talked to him, it was actually kind of scary how well he knew – how much he knew about my daughter’s appearance. Melinda didn’t like that too well.”
That still tracks, of course, but we have ventured into creepy now. No, Donnie. Complimenting someone’s daughter’s beauty in front of her mom is not how you make friends and influence people. Not with your sterling Access Hollywood reputation that was already well-known by then.
Gates describes how Trump was talking to him about innovation in healthcare and science, broad topics, and brought up the possibility of an HIV vaccine, and how those types of things might be accelerated. Then Gates brings up meeting Trump a second time at the White House and says that both times, Trump asked him if vaccines weren’t “a bad thing” because he was “considering a commission to look into ill effects of vaccines, and somebody, his name was Robert Kennedy Junior, was advising him that vaccines were causing bad things.”
That was in March of 2017. RFK, his new Health and Human Services Director, has been pumping his antivax nonsense into Trump’s ear for 7 and a half YEARS.
Friends, that is a whole lot of yikes before Bill Gates gets to the laugh line about the difference between AIDS and genital warts. I’ll let you watch for yourselves:
