Audrey Hepburn’s Son Gives Ivanka and Donald the Verbal Finger After First Daughter Wears His Mom’s Dress to Inauguration
This is priceless.
In a way that only the smartest, most erudite people can, Audrey Hepburn’s son Sean Hepburn Ferrer threw some serious shade at Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka after the inauguration.
He wasn’t there, by any means, but his mom was — at least in the dress that Ivanka wore as homage to the former actress. Ivanka wore a dress matching the screen-matched embroidered silk-organza gown made for Hepburn for her role as Sabrina Fairchild to her father’s inauguration on Monday.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Ferrer told reporters, “It is no wonder that growing up in a family which knew our mother as a household name, she chose to draw inspiration from her, to seek the ultimate elegance and class reference, for an occasion such as this one—the inauguration and the 32nd anniversary of our mother’s passing and, most of all, Martin Luther King’s day. What a cocktail!”
The reference to the household name, of course, is to the fact that Hepburn and Ivanka’s mother, Ivana Trump, were friends with each other.

“Over the past 71 years her legacy has grown to become trans-generational and transnational,” he said. “Her elegance, which has its roots in her inner beauty and spirit, is often a reference point, an anchor, for many celebrities, actresses and models in these times in which we appear to have somewhat lost our way.”
Ferrer went on to suggest that Audrey would have found herself on the side of Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde, who delivered the sermon that has Donald Trump so incensed. Although Republicans appear to have forgotten that the number one message Jesus had for humans was to be merciful — even promising a reward in Heaven for them in Matthew 5:7 — that was Bishop Budde’s transgression for Trump.
She made the cardinal mistake of imploring him to “have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now. There are gay, lesbian and transgender children in Democratic, Republican, and Independent families, some who fear for their lives.”
Sean told the news outlet, “She fought on behalf of the disenfranchised children worldwide regardless of the ideological environment in which they were born in.”
Trump lashed out at Budde, of course, as he always does, saying “The so-called Bishop who spoke at the National Prayer Service on Tuesday morning was a Radical Left hard line Trump hater.” Trump called her “nasty,” his favorite word to describe women he doesn’t like. Trump added, “Apart from her inappropriate statements, the service was a very boring and uninspiring one. She is not very good at her job!”

Bishop Budde has been “not very good at her job” for a little over 13 years now as the Bishop of Washington.
A statement from the White House after Trump took over, but before Ferrer’s remarks, said that Ivanka was “honored” to wear the gown, and she had long seen Hepburn as a “personal inspiration.” Ivanka wore black opera gloves with the gown, rather than Hepburn’s white, which for some reason seems fitting to me.
Sean Hepburn Ferrer is the only child of the timeless beauty and star of Sabrina, My Fair Lady, Roman Holiday, and Breakfast at Tiffany’s with her ex-husband Mel Ferrer, though he has many siblings from his father’s — and one brother from his mother’s — other relationships.
