For those who missed it, Waltz accidentally added journalist Jeffrey Goldberg to a group chat where top officials were discussing sensitive military operations.

Collins pressed Leavitt on whether Donald Trump felt misled by his national security team after reviewing the leaked messages. Leavitt, seemingly exasperated, responded, “I’ve now been asked and answered this question three times… the president feels the same today as he did yesterday.” She then attempted to move on, calling on another reporter.

But Collins wasn’t ready to back down, attempting to follow up. Leavitt, however, shut her down with a curt, “Kaitlan, I’m not taking your follow-up.” The tension was palpable, and the exchange highlighted the increasingly strained relationship between the Trump administration and certain media outlets.

This isn’t the first time Leavitt and Collins have clashed. Their exchanges have become emblematic of the broader friction between the current administration and the press. Critics argue that such dismissive interactions undermine transparency and accountability, while supporters claim they’re necessary pushbacks against perceived media bias.

Regardless of where one stands, it’s clear that the White House press briefings have become less about information dissemination and more about verbal sparring matches. One can’t help but wonder if these briefings would be better suited for a reality TV slot, given the drama that consistently unfolds.
